False Blue reading on patches
"PROOF-POSITIVE" jags and brushes are here!!! http://www.boretech.com/products/borestixpatchjagsproof.shtml ......no more false readings on the patch. Just as soft and safe as brass. I have been waiting and complaining about this for years. Talked to PRO-SHOT a year ago and NADA. BORE-TECH...

Re: 38 gr wildcat test loads
Nice shooting Gube, looks like your T3 likes RL-10X. I especially like your 400 yard group that you shot with your VLP using the 39gr. BK boolit and 24.8 gr. of RL-10X. I use 25.8gr. with that boolit and shoot at our clubs 600 yard range; using that load my .204 LRPV has grouped 10 shots into 2 5/8&...

Re: Joined the Savage club.
The Savage model 16FHSS has AccuTrigger, AccuStock, short action, hinged floorplate. The 16FCSS has the same as above but detachable box magazine. "The 16FSS has AccuTrigger, Internal Magazine, short action (no AccuStock)" I think you will like the internal magazine over the detachable mag...

Life is GOOD! That was over 800 yards in a 25mph wind and he missed by 3 inches. See viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6706 ![lol ](./images/smilies/lol.gif)

Re: 204 Ruger at extended range
Regarding velocity, my first post (11/12/09 8:45a.m.) I used 3800fps as a velocity example. Mr. Brown's shooting (so he states) was 3400fps. Four hunderd feet per second less than I gave the theoretical load credit for. Sorry about the math, but long range shooting require's it. Hotshot....You would...

Re: 204 Ruger at extended range
Just think of all the mess those 2L pop bottles are going to make. I would say that IS a good hunting load, if you are hunting 2L pop bottles. I could go on and on about Long Range shooting but it is much easier if you just visit my web site http://www.LongRangeBPCR.com ![redx :redx:](./images/smilies/redx.gif)

Re: How many rounds?
You are right on Glen; 3 will get you close, and 5 will get you there and 10 at extended range will verify all the above.

Fireballguy........here is a link to a post that might help with your question. http://www.204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6706 Later Ray P Okay....Lets think about this, suppose the 1-9 twist will stabilize a 55 Berger @ 3400fps even though Berger recommends a 1-8" twist. Le...

Re: 204 Ruger at extended range
And people have killed Grizzly bears with a .22 rimfire, elephants with a 7x57mm, and polar bears with a .22 Hornet so what's your point? Its not what you hit them with but where you hit them that counts? If you are shooting at animals "Beyond the normal range for the given gun" as you say...

My mother-in law the "Tree Hugger" has killed more deer with her car than I have hunting in my life time. ![roll ](./images/smilies/roll.gif)

Re: 204 Ruger at extended range
I would like to point out that the Berger 55gr boat tail varmint .204 bullet has an "Average G7 std. B.C. @ 3,000fps" of 0.195. If that bullet is fired at 3,800fps muzzle velocity its retained energy would be 113 ft. lbs.@ 800yds and retained energy of 198 ft. pounds @ 600 yards, optimal g...

Re: The one that got away.
Glen glad to hear you and the wife are okay. I think you need a heavier projectile with more sectional density for deeper penetration and knockdown DRT power. ![spin :spin:](./images/smilies/spin.gif)

Re: 35 grain berger vs. 39 grain sierra blitzking
The 39gr. Sierra BK is the hands down winner for long distance and fighting the wind. I have shot it to 600 yards and can attest to its accuracy and wind bucking ability.

Silverfox...One down and many more to go. That area looks like you could shoot some long distances there.

Re: E.O.R.F.S. Franchise
Happy Birthday Rick....I had mine this last monday the 2nd. I like the F.A.R.T.S. moniker also. I think a lot of us on this forum would fit in that category.
