Re: First one off of the "meatsicle"
Gube...nice shooting and a nice looking Yote. I know you use the frozen bait pile "meatsickle" but do you sometimes call them in too? I imagine it get pretty noisy at night with all the critters chomping on those moose ribs and meatsickle deserts.

Re: Savage accuracy
If a person is on a budget and wants the most bang for his buck then the Savage is the one to consider. I like nice wood and heavy barrels as much as the next guy, but when it comes down to the "most accurate for the lowest buck" its Savage; not Remington or Browning or Ruger (Sorry Guy's)...

Hornady Lock-N-Load Quick Change Bushing System
Has anyone out there ever made a loaded round comparison (concentricity) between using the Hornady L&L bushings in their press and just screwing the die into their press? I like the easy in and out using the L&L bushings but I have never compared the two methods. Once in a while I use two di...

Re: Carry handgun for calling predators in case a cougar attacks
Silverfox.....Whenever I am hunting in an area where I may have a chance encounter with something that could cause me bodily harm, my 1911 .45 auto is also my constant companion. The 9mm has to fire three shots to the .45's one to come close in stopping power. I like the .357 mag. I dont like its sh...

JB,....You live in the home land of Kimber. There are quite a few Kimber shooters on this forum. They say... for the extra dollars it is more gun for the money over a Savage. I happen to like the average man's rifle known as Savage. Could be a Kimber in .204 Ruger might be in your future?

Re: answer to fireballguy on extended long range 204
Jamie, I only posted the drops and wind deflection using "Bergers" site as a source of the B.C of their bullet. By the way the 55gr. .204 bullet is NOT a VLD bullet. I shoot my .204 Savage LRPV and VLP at our 600 yard range with the 39gr. "Berger" at 3854fps. muzzle velocity. I d...

Re: Shooting Stool
I use a camo 5 gallon bucket (was bought for fall goose hunting) it has a camo swivel lid. The bucket also comes in handy to bring ammo, targets, hats, ear plugs and binoculars etc. to the shooting bench. Looks like a lot of thought went into that bench and its accessories.

IMHO.....Holding the trigger back while EASING the bolt closed allows the firing pin and spring to be released gently. Works for me on both my 12's.

Re: Which 22 caliber?
Jim.....I would choose the .22-250 Ackley Improved. I have a .234 Rockchucker which is a .234 caliber on a 6mm Remington case that I used on woodchucks and crows at long range. Bullets were made in California by Frank Hemsted and I have an assortment of them that shoot well and buck the wind. I can'...

Re: False Blue reading on patches
Silverfox....It sure does, and next year Bore-Tech's "Bore Stix" cleaning rods will have their brass ferrule replaced with the same material; a metal alloy that has no brass/copper in it. Same stuff they uses on the new jag's and brush cores. Tell all your friends, just think of the time a...
