Re: Thinking on building a 11 Twist Barrel 204
Both my (supposedly 1-12 twist) Savage 12's.... a LRPV and a VLP in .204 RUGER will shoot (BARE) 39gr. Sierra BlitzKing's (at 600 measured yards) into precise 10 shot groups on a calm day, that could easily drop any ground squirrel, prairie dog or rockchuck that lives. The problem at 600 yards is th...

Re: Barrel twist question
Torowy.....If 90% of your shooting will be using 30-40gr. bullets, it makes more sense to go with the standard twist and use something in .224 caliber for the 50-55gr. bullets like another upper for your AR ? ![roll ](./images/smilies/roll.gif)

Re: chronograph advice
I have had a Oehler 35P (with built in printer) for over 30 years and it still works as good as the first day I took it out of its case. I dont know if any of the other brands would last that long. YMMV

Re: 40gr Bergers anyone
Idyoter.... I shoot 40gr. Berger Varmint bullets in my T/C Encore .204 Ruger Stainless Barrel but they are coated with WS2 and they will group .75 @ 200 yds (5 shots). Now un-coated Hornady's (40gr.) will make egg shaped holes in the target @ 100 yds. So I shoot 32gr. Hornady's and WS2 (danzac) coat...

Cracker....Darrell Holland has written an article "Reticle Perpendicularity" that you may want to download and read. Its easy to confirm that your reticle is perpendicular to your riflesbore using his method. http://www.hollandguns.com

Re: 40gr Bergers anyone
I have had good luck (5 shots in .250" or smaller) with the 40gr. Bergers using 25.1gr of RL-10X with Rem. 7 1/2BR primers in both Remington and Winchester brass C.O.L. 2.256-2.260" (3750fps) YMMV ![redx :redx:](./images/smilies/redx.gif)

Re: request: advice for best concentricity
Bow shot...The expander is what pushes the wall thickness variation to the O.D. of the neck where it can be neck-turned off. O.S. Neck sizing does not perfect the I.D. of the neck, only the O.D. (example.. using a bushing die sans expander) Fired cases only tell you if your chamber is concentric. BT...

Re: request: advice for best concentricity
jo191145 makes some very good observations about choosing brass and Nosler may be the right brass for you (JBinMontana.) I just sorted my last 300 WW cases by neck wall thickness, and out of the 300 there were only 150 that the neck thickness variation was LESS than .002" and 80 that measured b...

Re: 40 gr. Key-holage
Start with a clean copper-free barrel and try 25.1gr. RL-10X powder, Rem 7 1/2BR primer and 39gr. Sierra BlitzKing O.A.L. 2.285" (To tip not ogive). When switching different loads/bullets clean the barrel first. The Sierra's are easier to get to group than the 40gr. V-Max Hornady's. Tip for .20...

Re: annealing .204 brass
Poor mans annealing method.......I take my Sinclair primer pocker uniformer and chuck it in my battery operated drill. Set my propane torch on its small end with the flame set at the proper length and slip a deprimed case over the pocket uniformer; start the drill slowly and hold the spinning case n...

Re: request: advice for best concentricity
Bowshot...You may find that the Nosler Brass is a wee bit short in length. Also the Nosler brass that I have (.22-250) it appears that the inside uniforming of the flash holes was done a bit excessively. Noslers brass will appeal to those reloaders who dont have/take the time to properly prep their ...
