Re: Todays Target
Awesome target Darren. :hail: :hail: I have never tried Benchmark powder with a 35gr. Berger (been using H4895), but after seeing your target, I must say im impressed. What was your load, and O.A.L of the loaded cartridge; primer and brass type? Have you chronographed it yet? I also have a 12VLP lik...

Re: Savage Model 12 Dual Port...
Ray P........I just ordered one today (12LRPV .204 LPRB) about an hour ago; I decided to stay away from the dual port because I felt that by having two ports it may not be as rigid as a single port single shot action. Its only my opinion not based on any scientific fact, just a gut feeling. I was go...

Re: **COYOTE POSTAL SHOOT SIGNUP**
Shot target number 1 today......not too much wind and about 72 degrees but I have to admit that even though the wind was not much of an issue, those coyote's were bobbing around in my cross hairs like they were alive.. Then like a new shooter, I continued to shoot when my barrel was getting warm/hot...

Rick......Fantastic view, im curious at the elevation the picture was taken from? When you speak of flat shooting rifles you were not kidding. I dont think my old bones could carry me that high up.

Re: Reloader 10x, 40 grain vmax load data
I finally tried the 25.8gr load with the 39gr. Sierra BK with Winchester brass and Rem. 7 1/2BR primers. Its a fine shooting load all the way out to 600yds. which is the longest distance range (of 6) our club has (Aurora Sportsmens Club). If I get out there (before the wind comes up) early enough (6...

Re: Postal Shoot
I may be able to get down and sit behind crossed/sticks, but may need help trying to get these old bones back up again. Maybe I can use the X-sticks to help get upright.

Re: Nikon "Monarch" Scope
Jim White....Nice that Nikon is going to repair your scope at no charge. The 6x24x50mm Monarch came while I was in Wyoming making "Prarie Hamburger" with my .204 Savage 12VLP and I have since mounted it on my Winchester HW 1885 .22-250 (28" bbl.) and have only had time to get it on pa...

Re: Nikon "Monarch" Scope
Jim... Thanks for your reply. Although in the comparison I feel the Nikon was handicapped by its 44mm objective compared with the 50mm objectives of the Zeiss and the Leupold, the 6x-24x 50mm should make a better showing. I went ahead and ordered the NK8428 Nikon and will report on it as soon as I g...

Re: do you clean between load tests
Regarding fouling shots.....Every barrel has its own quirks, some require 3 or more fouling shots before they will print an acceptable group. In some cases a CLEAN barrel will throw the first shot high. Some barrels require to be fouled and others will print all of its bullets in the same location a...

Re: Reloader 10x, 40 grain vmax load data
Having seen loads posted "Over Maximum" for RL-10X on this forum and not getting any reply when I questioned those loads; I proceeded to work up and chronograph some over max loads myself in my Savage 12VLP stainless with Sierra 39gr BlitzKings. Loads were 2.312 O.A.L. Load #1...25.5gr. RL...
