Does anyone have any experience with one of these? Is it anymore accurate than the standard mini 14?
Thanks,
OtH

Re: Well we made it to Germany
Old School, I'm new to this forum so just saw your post. In the late 60's I spent 18 months at Ledward barracks in Schweinfurt. 1st Bn 30th Infantry. Old German barracks with steam heated radiators. Have they changed??? We lived in an upstairs apartment in a german couple's house. Beer was the their...

Re: Concentricity tolerance
acloco, is this a common practice? Taking the expander plug off doesn't create any problems with neck tension or seating the bullet? I'm still very new at this so just inquiring.
Thanks,

Re: Reloading Press
Some info to start with then. My main "passion" is trap shooting. When I started reloading shotgun shells, I started out with a $100 press and 4 presses later I have ended up with a progressive press that cost over $800. This small caliber rifle shooting is something new to me. I may never...

Reloading Press
I think it's time for a new press. The one I have used for reloading my hunting ammo was bought in the 70's from Herter's. So, what are the recommendations for a press on which I can reliably load .204 ammo?
Thanks,
OtH

Re: ?? About Bullet Jump
Ray P. Thanks for the info. I agree there is almost no bullet left in the case if seated to anywhere close to the 2.473 o/a length. I'll use what you suggested and see how it works for me.

?? About Bullet Jump
How much jump is too much? I've been reading everything I can on this forum since I got my new rifle. I have a Ruger Mod. 77 Mk II Varmit in .204. Please tell me if my thinking is flawed in what I have done. To find out how much "jump" I have in my rifle I did the following. The only measu...

Re: Primer Sealer
I have used nail polish to seal the primers on my hunting loads that I use for deer and elk for may years. I put it on with the brush that comes with it and then wipe my finger across the bottom of the case to smooth it out an get the excess off. I started doing this after I missed a bear one year u...

joghotrod,
What primer are you using? I finally found some 39 gr. Blitzkings on-line. Hopefully I'll have them next week.
Thanks again,
OtH

Re: Breaking in a Barrel???
I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. It looks like taking my time and keeping the barrel clean initially are the basics. I did a forum search and as stated there are lots of different ideas.

Breaking in a Barrel???
Good Morning, This is my first venture into small caliber rifle shooting (and this forum). I just purchased a new Ruger Mod. 77 Target in .204. I've had it less than a month. Another shooter at the range yesterday was talking breaking in the barrel. Honestly, as a hunter for the last 40 years with m...
