Re: The Perfect 100yrd Targets

I bought some load development targets from sinclair international a few years back and they seem to work great, they have holes punched in them to put in a three ring binder and a place to write all the info. I have also downloaded some targets from mytargets.com

Re: Soliciting opinions....

I believe I would choose either a 22-250 or a .223 for many reasons but mainly because they work, ammo is available everywhere, componets are readily available for reloading and both are very accurate. I know some of the guys on here love wildcats and recommend them often, but until you have alot mo...

Re: not 204 but it goes bang

Hey cracker, I had the same problem with my VTR in .223 until I got a couple hundred rounds through it. It has settled down quite nicely and am very happy with it. It will shoot 5 rounds in a ragged hole at 100 yds. I don't know if yours is broke in yet But make sure you keep the copper out of it an...

Finally after many trips to the range(at least 20) with my LRPV in 204 I finally found something it likes, 39 blitzkings and re-10x 5 shots and a one hole group. I was just about to give up on the 204 and order a barrel in 222, I guess one should never give up but the 204 is the hardest cartrige I h...

Re: Help to pick a factory .204

If you have a chance to check out the remington VTR, its worth a look, priced right, weighs about 7 1/2 pounds, and is capable of one hole accuracy with the right load development. I have one and its a great gun to carry on walkabout, mine is a .223 but they make it in 204R 22-250 and 308. I also ow...

Re: Help Picking A SAVAGE

I currently have 3 savages 1. LRPV 204r 2. LRPV 22-250 3. model12 bvss 223, IMHO for what you pay savage makes a great rifle, all shoot very well and with proper load development they will shoot sub 1/2 moa with no problem. I have owned most of the other factory guns including remmy's and winnies br...

Re: advice on Thompson Encore

Steve, I too have the pro-hunter in 22-250 with a simmons whitetail classic 6.5x20 mil-dot and at 100 yds it will put 5 bullets inside a 1 inch circle with a 55g v-max bullet and 34g of varget, I really haven't played around with it much but plan to in the future.

Re: How many grains make a diff?

Most of the time berger recommends seating the bullets touching the lands, so they back off the powder charge, they don't want you to create too much pressure, just start low and work your way up looking for pressure signs and you should be fine.
