A few more coyotes.

1/26/14 This morning I set up along a field road before day light hoping to catch a coyote crossing an open field between two timbers. After about an hour and half and seeing nothing, I worked my way down onto a hill side in a CRP patch that over looked a small creek bottom. I was slowly working my ...

Re: 1/1/14 Coyote

Dean,
I'd like to come out this Spring if things work out. With college graduations, weddings and new grandbabies last Spring, I wasn't able to make it out there with Clint.

1/1/14 Coyote

Early before day light on New Years Day I went out to a creek bottom where I could sit on the point of a ridge overlooking a creek bottom where I've seen and shot coyotes in the past. I had planned on taking my .220 Swift out that morning but was running a little late and already had my CZ American ...

Wyoming Trip 5/12

Back on May 23rd, just after noon, Lucas, Clint and I headed out for Neb. on a 9 hour drive to our friend Dave’s house. We spent the night there and then around 6-6:30 am the next morning we were on the road to meet up with Dean, a friend of Clint’s that had invited us to Wyoming to shoot some prair...

Re: Fun with Skippy in 2012 Pt. 2 (The Valley of Death)

Rick, I grew up hunting groundhogs and spent a lot of Saturday evenings monitoring the bean fields instead of going out on dates, the hunting was less stressful and cheaper. Our groundhogs starting disappearing in the early 70's and we are just now starting to get a few of them again. I miss those d...

Rick,
Looks like everyone except the rats had a good time. Thanks for the story and pictures, looks like those rats can tear up some real estate. Too bad they don't stay out longer.

Re: A couple coyotes

WY-NEvarmints,

I think I'll leave the shotgun at home but I will be bringing my 45 ACP along for any that get too close! We're looking forward to the trip and let's hope the weather cooperates.

A couple coyotes

Well….it’s not been the best season for coyotes this past winter. We haven’t been hearing or seeing them and seen very little sign of them. Back in mid-January was our last deer firearms season and I didn’t get one but did shoot a coyote with my Rem 1100 LT 20 ga. I was sitting down by the creek in ...

Re: Kit Fox

I didn't know Colorado had Kit foxes. I also let the fox go when I do see them. There are very few around here but I have been seeing one in the field across the road from my house around sun rise.

Neat pictures, Dennis.

Re: TR Me and The Three Stooges

Dennis,
Congratulations on the coyotes and thanks for sharing your hunt. I'm glad to see someone is having some luck calling coyotes. I've been out a lot since deer season ended in mid Jan. and haven't called in a one. Haven't seen many tracks either.

Re: Coyote hunting in missouri

Derrick, I'm not from MO. but I and others around here (about 75 miles north of St. Louis in IL.) are having trouble calling coyotes. They just aren't coming very good to distress calls or howls. I'm contributing it to all the warm weather we've been having around here. It hit 64* here today. I'm t...
