Re: "When the wind is in the East.........
janneuf, Most everyone around her lost their alfalfa last Spring due to a late freeze so a lot of guys planted Sudex. Then on top of that we've had a very dry summer. There have been a few guys baling up corn stalks. Most of the corn is out around here and now they're working on the beans. I was won...

Re: "When the wind is in the East.........
Greg, This is the entrance wound, there was no exit. This is a good example of bullet placement. The bullet hit and broke the shoulder bone and continued into the chest cavity. This was an angle shot. I've had broad side shoulder hits penetrate the bone with only a small entrance hole and get to the...

Re: Long range .204
I'm not surprised at your daughters picking up on the shooting. Our NWTF chapter sponsors a two day Wing Shooting Clinic and one of those days is for ladies. We have ladies that have never shot a gun before and by the end of the day most of them are shooting doubles. We have certified instructors by...

It's started!
I decided it's time to start hunting coyotes for this year. The pups are big enough to take care of their selves and some farmers around here have been busy picking corn this past week making some of my calling places available. This morning it was 56 degrees out, coolest it's been since last Spring...

Not hunting related, but interesting
This isn't related to hunting but I thought it was interesting. I hope it's ok to post this. About 3 weeks ago my wife discovered a locust shedding it's shell. This sequence of pictures happened in about 30 minutes. I went back about 5 minutes after I took the last picture was taken and the locust w...

Re: Last Fall's Buck
I would have loved to see them. We were on the wrong side of Marfa. We stopped by the visitors center on the way home but it was daylight. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v724/melvin54/P5150066.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v724/melvin54/P5150065.jpg We were doing a night hunt and got to s...

I know you gotta' do what you gotta' do. I liked to go back and look at my post just to see how many viewers it had and also to go back and look up comments on loads, guns, reloading etc. I'm sure there are others that did that also. There was a lot of valuble and informative info thats gone. Anyway...

Good job on the coyote, looks like a good sized one. Did you by chance weigh it?
