Re: Summertime coyote 09'

Song Dog,

It's not as bad as you might think. It beats having to swat off mosquitoes when you're trying to sit still when calling and it works real good when I'm squirrel hunting.

Re: Summertime coyote 09'

BabaOriley, The mosquitoes aren't real bad, but I wear a bug suit, spray my hands with "Off" and wear a head net like this one. It also works for fishing or any other time you want to keep the bugs away. I've even worn mine while mowing to keep the black fly's off. http://www.cabelas.com/...

Re: Summertime coyote 09'

Keith in Ga, It was right at sun up. Ray P, Normally they just drop on the spot, but this time it was my screw up. I should have waited till he was broadside before I shot, instead I took the shot when he was a little more than quartering into me. The bullet took out two ribs before it got to the v...

Summertime coyote 09'

We have been having some odd weather around here this year with a wet Spring and some cool spells. I've had a hankering to get out and try some calling and when I heard it was going to be 60 degrees Sat. morning, I decided to give it a try. I went to a creek bottom that had a big bean field and the ...

glenn asher,

Glad you had a nice trip. I went thru Yellowstone the year after I graduated high school and I didn't want to go home, but had too. I think I grew up in the wrong part of the country.

.......and yes, I also watch PBS. They have some really neat shows and concerts on there.

Re: case trimmer

greystone,

Could you post a picture of your trimmer with the cordless on it. I too have used a Forester for 35 years and haven't had any problems but I've got 1000+ cases I need to trim.

Squatting Wolf,

Great write up and pictures, reminds me of the scenery where we were. Glad you had a good trip this time. It doesn't look like there is anything in counrty like that, but to me, it looks beautiful with the wide open space. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.

Nebraska Prairie Dog Trip

On May 27th, my youngest son, Ethan, and I left home by 6:00 A.M. to head to Nebraska to shoot prairie dogs with our good friend Dave. Ethan had just gotten home from college the week before and we were able to work the trip in before he started his summer job. Ethan got to go with us the first year...

Re: Monday Flying Lessons (For Skippy)

Thanks for sharing your shoot with us Rick. I wish we had something around here we could shoot a lot of bullets at. The only thing we have around here in the summertime to shoot is moles, which I could do without. Enjoyed the pictures too. It's always nice to see the counrty where others here on the...

Re: Oregon Turkey

bullfrog,

Isn't it great when it comes together, and then not, and together again? The unexpected just puts icing on the cake.

It won't be long you'll be out there with your son and hunting will take on a whole different meaning.
