Re: Break in the weather
Have that same shooting bench. Quite a joy to shoot off of. Just wish I had a landscape like that to shoot with it! Place is beautiful futuretrades, and obviously target rich. What kind of range can you get in that field? Quite jealous...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
...which brings me back to the Millet LRS-1. After doing some more homework on optics. I learned that the Millet has a full 140 MOA of travel in it. Now i know you guys here don't have much experience with the brand, let alone the scope itself. But many other forums are blown away by the performance...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
The VX3L has caught my interest. The biggest thing (other than price) is adjustment travel. Being that this scope is a dedicated long range scope. It should have enough travel right? I figure I could buy some 20 MOA bases if not.

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
Which model leupold would you recommend? Is the VX3 a decent scope? I don't think I could penny up for a Mark 4

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
Thanks Trent! And Ive seen some of the guys setups over there. Either they make some serious money during the day or their rifles price tag requires them to take out a second mortgage. Now maybe I am being a little hopeful getting out to 1K under a budget. But we've gotten our totally factory ...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
As far as optics go, I was really looking at nikon monarchs. But the guys over at LRH have been pointing me towards millet. Their scopes have 56mm objectives with 35mm tubes and 1/10 MOA adjustments. They say they're the best bang for the buck but idk as I've never seen one in person. I'm pretty sol...

Just targets at that range. Whether it be rock, paper, or steel. Have a variety of places to shoot that distance.

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
I think you guys have talked me into it. Im breaking down and pulling the trigger (no pun intended) on a Savage 12 LRP in 260 Rem. That round just sounds absolutely amazing. Less recoil, more energy, and flatter shooting than a 308 at 1000 yds. Talked to a lot of people and as far as FACTORY rifles ...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
I was definitely liking the sounds of 6mm stuff. But with 260 rifles hard to come by without going full custom, i was a little scared off. Remington does offer a couple in the 700 line and one in the model 7 correct? Hows availability of ammo/prices for the 260? Ive read everywhere that this IS the ...

Low Recoil & Big Distance...?
I guess i finally have to admit it, im a tad recoil sensitive. And the 204 was a perfect caliber for me to begin my adventure into long range shooting. Now that I've about maxed out my distance limitations with this incredible little peanut shooter, I'm ready to step up a bit to break over th...

Re: 204 and barrel length
Im sure there are more reasons. But for ME..the biggest reason in having a shorter barrel is versatility. Rifles with shorter barrels are not only lighter, but easier to manuever while walking and stalking. I still prefer longer barreled rifles just because i sit in one position instead of walking a...

Your Favorite Crow Load
Just as the title states, I'd like to know what you're favorite crow load is. I've been using Remington Game Load 2 3/4" #6 shot but im completely open to new opinions. Just so everyone knows..im using an 870 Express Mag 12 Gauge. If there is a better load out there, I would definitely want to ...
