Yes the .223 is very good for coyotes. I've seen quite a few killed with it. And some people use it for pronghorn antelope and deer. It's used for deer a lot in Texas. It wouldn't be my choice for big game but it is used for that by some.

Re: Rough 200 yard sight in
I'd sight it 1" high at 100 yds. My .204 is really accurate with the 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon and BLC(2) powder, Rem. 7 1/2 primers. I started with 27 gr. and worked up to 30 gr. At 28.5 gr. I got a .169 group. My biggest group was .718. A friend of mine has killed coyotes with the 35 gr. Berg...

Oh wow! So that's a wombat, I didn't realize they were that big. Is there a lot of them there? I'd love to go over there and hunt your varmints.

Re: Finding 'that' load
I have a 700 Rem. VLS .204. I have really had good luck with the Nosler 32 gr. Varmageddon, BLC(2) powder, Win brass, and Rem. 71/2 primers. Started with 28 gr. powder, worked up to 30 gr. At 29 gr. I shot a .169 group. My biggest group was .718. I would really reccomend the Varmageddon. Gun writer,...

Re: savage 204 walking varminter
My .204 is a Rem. 700 VLS but it really likes 32gr. Nosler Varmageddons and BLC(2) powder, Rem. 71/2 primers. 29 grs. is a medium load and I shot a .169 group with it.

Re: Speer TNT
I loaded some Speer 39 gr. TNT's in my .204. I only shot them on paper. They shot pretty good, around 3/4". Not as good as 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon's. That's the only experience I have with them.

Hey Varmintcaller,
What part of S.W. Idaho are you in? Maybe we could get together sometime. I do quite a bit of varmint calling.

Re: T/C Venture
I would recommend the 32gr. Nosler Varmageddon and BLC(2) powder. I used them with Win. brass and Rem.7 1/2 primers in my Rem. 700 VLS and shot some really small groups. One measured .169".

Re: Are "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" any good???
I don't mind the roughness, it's the inletting that was very sloppy, gaps around tang and all metal. Guy that did it must have had a Monday morning hangover or something. I talked to a stockmaker and he said he's seen quite a bit of that from Richard's. Anyway, to each his own but they'll never get ...
