Re: E-callers
Check out the Ico-tech. It's only got 12 sounds but it's only $80.00! They're good sounds, supposed to be actual recorded animals. I think some of the more expensive ones get carried away with so many sounds. Probably most of them never get used. It has a three hundred yard range too. I''ve got one ...

Re: 1st shoot, NOT so flat trajectory ?!
I've definately had splashes on badgers with the 30 gr. Sierra and saw a buddy get a splash on a coyote with the same bullet. He has gone to the 35 gr. Berger for coyotes and is having real good success with it. lots of one shot kills and not much fur damage. I've shot a few badgers with the 32gr. V...

Re: 1st shoot, NOT so flat trajectory ?!
Splash is when a bullet blows up on the surface of an animal and doesn't penetrate. Leaves a big red splotch and the animal usually gets away wounded.

Re: Coyote tournament
Well, our first tournament of the season is over and was a pretty good success. 13 teams entered. There was a total of 28 coyotes brought in. First place had 6, second had 5 and third had 5. second and third tied so we broke it by the time the last coyote was shot. We all had a good time and a bunch...

Re: Nosler 32Gr Varmageddon
BLC(2) and the 32gr. Varmageddon are "the" combination for my Rem. 700, .204. I did just about the same load procedure as you.. The most accurate load for me was 29.5 gr. BLC(2), got a .169 group. I was using Win. brass and Rem. 7 1/2 primers. No big pains prepping, the brass had been fire...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
I have never used the 32 gr. V-Max much. The 32 gr. Varmageddon was recommended to me by gun writer, John Batsness. It turned out to be the most accurate bullet I've shot in my rifle. It really puts badgers down so I think it would also be good for fox. He said it has become his favorite bullet for ...

Re: 32GR OR 39GR ?
Give the 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddons a try if you can get them. You might be surprised at how accurate they are.

Re: nosler varmageddons
I've shot mostly 40 gr. V-Max in my .204 but I'm really liking the 32 gr. Varmageddon. I shot a badger at about 200 yds, hit him dead center chest. It put him down without a wiggle. I had a splash on a broadside shot at a badger with the 39 gr. Sierra and a buddy had a splash on a coyote with it so ...

Re: nosler varmageddons
The Nosler 32 gr. Varmageddon is the most accurate bullet in my .204. Win. brass, BLC(2) powder, Rem. 7 1/2 primer. Had one three shot group go into .169. The largest group was under 7/8". With 39 gr. Sierra's I was always between 3/4 and 1 ". 4ogr. V-max stay right around 3/4". Bob

Re: nosler vArmageddon
I used Winchester brass that had been fired 3 or 4 times. All I did was neck size, trim to length, champher mouths inside and out, wiped lube off, cleaned primer pockets. Rem.71/2 primers, 32 gr. plastic tipped Varmageddon. I started with 27 gr. BLC(2) and worked up to 30 gr. in .5 gr. increments. I...

Re: OCW shooting distance for the .204 Ruger
The 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon and BLC(2) powder were the most accurate in my Rem. 700 VLS. I used Win. brass, Rem 7 1/2 primers. Started with 27 gr. and worked up to 30 gr. 28.5 gr. turned out to be most accurate with a .169 group. I seated bullets so they just fit in the magazine and didn't change ...

Re: 40gr v max loads for a Howa?
You might give BLC(2) powder a try, if you can find any. That's my favoriye powder in my .204. It gives good velocities and is accurate. I get 3/4" to 1" groups with the 40 gr. V-Max, about the same with the 39 gr. Sierra. The 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon is super accurate in my .204, I've sh...

Yeah my buddy that had the splash on the coyote started using the 35 gr. Berger and he really likes their performance on coyotes.
