Re: 39g Sierra's or 35g Berger ???

I've never used the 35 gr. Berger but have used the 39 gr. Sierra. Had a splash on a badger and he got away. I started using the 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon and have had good results. Shot a big 30 lb. boar badger in the center of chest at about 200 yds. Dropped him right where was sitting, DRT. Just ...

Re: Coyote Tournament

That's happening in Idaho now. The wolf is established here. Game license and tag revenue is way down. Outfitters are way down in business. In a lot of places you can't find elk or deer now. Yet the huggers keep pushing. Now they're trying to convince fish and wildlife to use non lethal control meth...

Re: Coyote Tournament

Yeah, we're kinda holding our breath. We heard and read about your ban on contests in Oregon. Seems they consider contests as gambling over there. One of the magazines, I think maybe it was "Predator Extreme", had an article about it. We're going to keep going as long as we can. The future...

Re: Your favourite bore cleaner

I used Wipe Out foam on my .204 and got a lot of copper out, then I used Hoppe's #9 and cleaned the normal way until I was getting a clean patch, thought I had it down to bare metal. A couple days later I put some Montana Extreme through it and got a bunch more copper out! The Montana Extreme is str...

Re: ruger m77 .204 blew up

I had a blow up with my Rem. Mod. 700, .204. It wrecked the bolt but didn't seem to harm anything else. I was shooting 30 gr. BLC(2) and 40 gr. V-max, which I had shot hundreds of times before. First shot was fine next shot was excessively loud, noticeably more recoil and I felt gas hit me in the fa...

Alright, glad it worked out for you. They are are good call for the money. Good way to get into e-calling without spending a bunch of money.

Re: 204 for fox.

I've used the .204 on several badgers and it puts them down easily. I think you would be happy with the performance of the .204 on fox.

Re: Anyone here built a 22-204R?

I remember reading an article years ago by Col Charles Askins. He was always trying to dream up some new wildcat. He said everytime he thought of some new super duper wildcat he'd find out that Parker (P.O. Ackley) had done it 40 yrs. before!

Re: -30 Badger

They do come out in winter, just not as often. I've seen a few in winter time even with snow on the ground. They are not true hibernators. What part of the country do you live in? You have a season there? Open year 'round here in Idaho.

Re: E-callers

Check out timberbutteoutdoors. com. Thetysell the Ico-Tek and also make and sell a carrier/shoulder strap that lets you carry your e-caller hands free. They carry lots of other calls and varmint related gear. Gary Mathews is the owner and is a great guy and will do all he can to help with your purch...
