Re: First one with the T3 lite

Gube, tell us about the accuracy and how well you like the Tikka. Sure would like to know.

Re: 700 triggers

Ryan, I was in he same boat. Still am, for that matter. Can't get any accuracy out of mine. I have tried a half dozen powder/bullet combinations or more and I would be lucky to kill 50% on sage rats at 100 yards. The barrel was broke in properly and kept clean. I am going to work on the crown. My gu...

Re: Scope doublers

The only one I have come across is the one listed above. They must be pretty confident of their product as they have a 100% satisfaction refund. The only limitation is it must be shipped within 45 days.

Their site is Bulzeyepro.com

Scope doublers

Just wondering if any of you have tried any of the products on the market. I bought a 10X leupold in about 1968. It is by far one of the clearest scopes I have, but at times would like more power. It is mounted on a Mini Mauser 223. I see that Bulzeyepro makes one and they are quite inexpensive. I w...

Re: Barrels & temps.

Hey Rick, it appears to me that the trailer you guys are pulling, probably gets filled up with all the gear you have on a shoot. That is fun though. The first time I went to shoot rats around '90, my old friend and I sat under a couple juniper trees and shot off our benches from 9:00- 3:00. We had o...

Re: Remington SPS Varmint

Steve, I think it is a crapshoot as whether the new Rem. triggers will suffice. You can roam the various websites about varmint hunting and get two points of view. It seems like those that are satisfied with a 2 lb trigger say they are ok. My experience is that I cannot get the same pull weight from...

Re: 700 triggers

I just received and mounted my new Rifle Basix trigger this afternoon. First off, it is a nice looking piece. I was quite delighted when I sighted in on some targets at 300+ yards and got such a nice let off. The trigger weight was set at 10 oz's which makes me happy. I will just leave it there. I k...

Re: Need some opinions

Rick I had read that SS was a little more difficult to work with than carbon steel. When my new trigger gets here, I will be taking the SS trigger apart and try and diagnose what was going on with it. I have worked on triggers on o/u shot guns and found angles do make a difference and how well they ...

Need some opinions

Since so many of you shoot super accurate guns and no doubt, have a lot of experience with various triggers. I have it in my head, that a two lb pull on a trigger does not really tell us everything about the trigger. Even if they have no slack or take up, some of them just break easier than others. ...

Re: I don't know if this is an urban legend or if it's true

I really like pictures like that when the weather is crappy. It reminds me I have something very special to look forward to. I will be more than ready when late april/early may come around so I can get one of them in my sights. The last time I saw chucks on top of big rocks, was in S. Oregon. I was ...

Re: 700 triggers

Well, I just got the answer. All 700's will take the same trigger, whether supplied by an after market maker. The difference is in the bolt release and the safety. So if you buy a pre '06 model 700, the triggers will fit but that does not mean the safety can be transferred to the post '06 triggers.

Re: I don't know if this is an urban legend or if it's true

I do know the western variety are rather curious about noise, and are really on alert. We used to driver the perimeter of alfalfa circles when hunting sage rats and would turn on the music loud and they would pop up. With chucks, music does get their attention, but really puts them on alert. They ju...

700 triggers

I have read on some sites, that the pre '06 triggers have been exchanged on the actions of an '06 and later action. Apparently there must be some differences as some companies advertise pre and post model triggers.

Anyone have a rational answer to this?

Re: as a matter of interest

When I was in the market for a 204, a good friend who works in a large sporting goods store told me what he had heard about the Kimbers. He said there were reports of half a dozen of them being sent back to Kimber. Accuracy was the problem, but he said it was accentuated by the short distance of the...

Re: Case head seperation??

Ray, the Savage 99's, seem to always have a flex in the action when firing. This distorts the brass around the head. Thus there is a stretching of the brass and you know what that causes, case seperation.

In fact, you can see the distortion with the naked eye if you look closely.
