Re: 35 gr berger update......

Myself, I have had great luck with using the 35 Berger for fur hunting. Most shots I've had on animals(30yrds-250yrds) have passed thru, but with little damage to the hide. I tried using some of the polymer tipped bullets on fox and coyotes with lots of damage to the fur or worse losing the animal b...

Re: 35 Berger ?s

The 35gr bergers will give you just enough expansion to get the job done without exploding on impact like other plastic tipped bullets will. I have shot P-dogs with the 35's and had them just punching holes thru them and thats all. A couple coyotes shot with them at 100-250yrds made a 20 cal hole in...

Who's from Phoenix?

I've been spending alot of time in Phoenix AZ working, and with the weather in the 70's I have been hankering to do some varmint shooting! Does anyone here live in that area that does shooting at vermin? I just would like somewhere to shoot at them pesky varmints! Thanx......

Re: 35gr berger bullets for 700 vls

I have a Rem SPS sporter barrel I use for predator hunting and use a book max load of 28.2 gr of H-4895, Horn case, Fed205m, and 2.31col. Book shows 3900fps in a 24" barrel, and it shoots 3 rounds at 100yrds into the .30" range if I do my part! Shot two coyotes and one coon from 30-250yrds...

Re: Hey CZ 527 guys!

I have a CZ 527 Varmint and using a max load of H4895 and 39BK bullets loaded at 2.32 COL max. And it feeds well with just 4 rounds in the clip, 5 rounds feel like it binds up. Wonderful rifle for the money. Very accerate to boot. Just keep your COL at or under 2.32 and you will be fine. My understa...

HSM brass went to the trash!

I recently had an episode with some HMS brass I got from some factory loads. I found several cracked necks while loading these cases in load development atr around the 2-3rd loading, not that big of a deal, I was planning on getting some other brass anyway. Yesterday I was resizing some HMS brass an...

Re: new cz 527 varmint

My CZ Varmint shot very well with factory hornady 32 vmaxs, but after loseing a well shot coyote at longer range, I have used the HSM factory loaded 39SBK with great luck. My CZ would shoot them less than .50" all day long. Made some incredible shots 350 yrds + with them 39s. My new load I work...

Re: My first dog with the 35 Berger!

Yup my bad everyone, I think trying to just fit one .204" bullet inside a .035" hole would be a trick! You guys are sharp! I meant to type .35" but sometimes my fingers think they could do better. I guess I had engine clearances on my mind, and that'd be a loose one at that, dam gearh...

My first dog with the 35 Berger!

Ive tried the the 32gr v-max on a coyote last year only lose him at around 300yds. I snucked up on him with no wind making a good shot behind the shoulder with a bipod. He droped hard and blood was everywhere, but he got up to my superise and ran away into the hills. I than switched to the 39BK and ...
