Re: New Winchester 1885 Low Wall 204
Yeah, I looked at the 22-250 awhile back at Cabela's. Real nice rifle. You'd look very nice with it in your hands.

Re: Still getting one flyer
If you can drop a bullet in a fired case without needing to apply some pressure you probably won`t see any gain from neck turning. Unless the assembled cartridge neck is closer then 0.003" of a fired case neck diameter you are wasting your time and probably causing more working of the necks du...

Re: Still getting one flyer
Just for reference, the standard SAAMI chamber neck I.D. is .232" for the .204 Ruger. I've noticed that my Cooper 20VT also uses a .232" neck. From experience, I'll again mention that it's seldom desirable or necessary to turn case necks for a factory chamber....you just will never see an...

Re: Still getting one flyer
Rooster I have been experiencing the same problem, and it is frustrating. I use a Redding bushing die and notice that I can feel a very slight difference in resistance when seating the bullet. Thinking that maybe the inside of the case neck might have some high spots I contacted Bob at Foresters Pro...

Re: Who's using Redding dies and what type?
I use the Redding type S bushing die. It's a three die set. After my first reloading, and the brass has been formed to the chamber, I remove the expander ball and don't use it again until I start a new cycle of brand new brass.

Re: 204 load tests...
Zeus
My CZ didn't start to shoot the 39BK until the load got hot. I worked it up very slowly to 25.8 grs. of R10X. This is a hot load, just on the border line for my rifle, and I'm Thinking about backing it down some.

Re: Powder burn rate question
Short answer is no. Faster burning powders won't necessarlly give you higher velocitys. Also each lot of powder may burn different than another lot, of the same type of powder. Therefore each lot is given another number from 1 through 10 that shows how each lot burns. With small cal. rifles were ten...

Re: Time interval between shots at the range?
Another thing you should also keep in mind, is to clean between powders, then before shooting a group foul the barrel with the powder your'e using.

Re: How do you load flat based bullets?
Another suggestion you might want to try. When you first start to feel the bullet making contact with the seating assembly, then back off and turn the cartridge 90* do this a couple of times while seating the bullet. This will help to align the bullet in the die.
