You'll have to tell us when you find out. No one can tell you what particular ammo will work in your particular rifle.
I would be sure to include the Federal 39smk loads in your testing though ;)

Cant argue with Skipper on this. He's the man in the know. Personally I'd like one just like it to try myself but my game calls for factory barrels. I would call Pac-Nor and see what they say. Right after that call I'd start loading the lightweights (32's,34's,35's) and have some fun. I'll bet it'll...

Dagnabit thats some good shootin Hawkeye!!!
Just might have to try that combo in my new tube!

I just got through typing that because of the 35's low BC they are not great at long range. Your making me look like a fool ;) Oh well, its an easy job you might as well excell at it

Hawkeye Just to give you an idea of where to start. (or stop) 28.0gns of 135 should put the 35's right at the 4000fps mark. Of course you'll want to work up to this load. I have gone even higher but your getting into no mans land at 4100fps. 4221 gave me a sticky bolt. WARNING 4200fps would be way w...

I think your seating your bullets out to far in a cartridge that likes to jump. Yes Some people find accuracy by getting close to the lands. Most do not. I would suggest 2.265 (my lucky 35#) with the 35 Bergs and Benchmark. Find your best powder charge and then do a seating depth test. You might be ...

Great shooting pathmaker.

Yes Savages can print zero's, occasionally anyway. Shoot some more of that load and let us know how you do. Not to many people raving about the 40 V-max but it comes down to what the rifle likes and doing your homework. You get an A+

If this purchase had been made with the intent of gaining a rifle for walk-about coyote hunting or that sort of use, I would be reasonable pleased. But that wasn't the plan. Maybe I am expecting WAY too much from a $400 rifle. :? Hidalgo Not looking to bash you or Remington but your close to the an...

Rodbolt I just began using Lock-eze myself. Not really sure if I would need it. For whatever reason Viht 135 seems perfect for my barrel anyway. Just enough carbon that I get little to no coppering. Burns clean enough that I'm not developing a volcano on the crown. Berger bullets also seem to help i...

I've been using N135 with excellent results in my 204 with 40 Bergs. This Viht powder is some strange but great stuff. My groups tend to walk around just a little when I start shooting usually giving me a .5 -.6 After ten or fifteen rds they just settle down and go in one hole. It doesnt matter if I...

I'm curious as to why you would use an expander ball with a bushing die. Wouldn't the expander be defeating the bushing? Thanks. Skipper If your not neck turning or not doing a good job of it if you are the expander ball will push the defects to the outside of the brass supposedly giving a more equ...

acloco I've been eyeing those lightseekers for three years or so. Never took the leap of faith to order one yet. Its my understanding they are assembled by Burris but with better glass. My first scope (Burris SS 6.5x24) left me feeling the need for more magnification. I read a great review of the li...

Wow I appreciate the thanks Skipper but Benchmark is not new and your the guy who put the cash on the line and pulled the trigger. And yes #5 is a real gut wrencher isn't it. Good Shooting!!! I'm sure theres plenty more where that came from. Good to see this forum up and running again. I'm waiting s...

Wrzwaldo I've seen the F 308 at a public range near my house about three weeks ago. As acloco would say its sssccchhhwwweeet! The guy even let me touch off a couple of factory loads. It was shooting about 1 moa with no rear bag for him. My two shots were about 1 moa too. I've been shooting with a re...

Shooter 22BR hmnnn. You may have a point there. I'm beginning to waffle here. Maybe picking up an LRPV for future builds would be better. The 6.5 is just another 12 action of which I already have three. A right bolt left port might be interesting. Hawkeye Definately an ugly stock. Everyone said so a...

My guess is a rough copper deposit. Copper deposits change continuously as you shoot. As the copper builds it could easily become rough than smooth out again, then develop another rough spot, so on so on. The Sierras have a thin jacket. My theory (no proof at all) is that the lead in the bullet is a...
