Re: Loads for N135?

Keep an eye on your neck expansion. It seems to me Viht powders are not reliably expanding four seperate lots of brass. Oddly enough Viht 133,135 and 140 do not always expand the necks on my collection of brass. Wierd. Other powders H-4895 and Benchmark do not have these problems. WS2? I bought the...

Re: bore guide?

Welcome to the forum mudbug.
I use universals in my Savages and am perfectly happy.
Want the best? Do a search for Lucas rod/bore quides. They don't get any better than that.

Re: vv133 and the 204 equals easy success

Sorry Ray. Can't offer up a ton of info on Jammin. I did try jamming 40 Noslers with Viht 135. Best results in an Audette ladder were found down low in the charge weights. .005 off the lands and .010 jammed were the best seating depths. Initially shot the Audette with .020 jam. Total group size was ...

Re: Loads for N135?

No Viht does not offer any load data for the 204. Thats one of the things that initially drew me to it. As close to wildcatting as one can get with a factory cartridge  Walt Berger has offered up some quickload data for Viht powders. In my experience it is extremely conservative. You can search...

Re: My new Bud

Nice lookin pup Mike. I've got two blacks myself. One likes to hang with me at the range, the other wants nothing to do with it. They're named Barkley (after Charles I'm told) and Bear. Guess I could've used some help naming them myself.

Re: Top speed, and what about N140

BLC-2 is a fine metering ball powder. In my limited expierience with it I noticed that trying to wring a little extra speed out of it can get dangerous fast. In other words published max charges are exactly that. I agree with everyone else. Accuracy first. Just recently tried a few rds of N-140. Sie...

Re: Loads for N135?

I've been doing most of my testing with 40 Bergs so I'll start there. I would suggest starting at 25.5gns and plan on stopping around 27.5. Warning Keep a close eye on pressure indicators. I have gone higher than 27.5 but with less than stellar results not to mention popping a primer or two. You sho...

Re: Walther barrels rule

You can also try ferret50.com. Although a week from LW cannot be beat 8)

Pikeon Do you have any "distance to the lands" measurements for us. Wondering how much freebore LW uses on thier reamers.

Re: Ok, what's going on here!

Gotta admit the sloppy firing pin holes flew right over my head, did'nt really even look at those pics. Another sleepless night :duh: Sad to see it on a new LRPV. If it was mine I'd be on the phone to Savage and seeing what kind of hoops I needed to jump through to get a better one. Yes they're beco...

Re: Ok, what's going on here!

case on the right. Is that a small dent in the shoulder? Probably two unrelated coincedences. First round (right) probably had a small piece of debris in the chamber. Second round a simple split neck probably caused by a small defect near the burn spot. Could have been hot but hey who knows. Check m...

Re: vv133 and the 204 equals easy success

2.207 Once again WOW!
It makes me wonder how Pac-Nor chambered it. Perhaps they had thier 204 reamer reground and someone cut those annoying flutes off in the front

Beyond custom pills theres only one bullet with less bearing length than the 35 Berg. The 30 Berg.

Re: vv133 and the 204 equals easy success

Ray Is it true the 35 Berg is actually below the neck shoulder junction or the 32 V-max? If its the 35 WOW that is definately zero freebore. Whats your COL with the 35? The Bergs will shoot dots. Does'nt happen very often for me with factory tubes but I have seen it. When they're not shootin dots I ...
