This buck was shot in the Olympic mountains in Washington state.

Well that does it Im telling the wife were moving back to eastern Oregon ASAP.........well maybe ask if we can would be more like it. Im heading down in june or july to do some flyfishing anyways.

So who makes a aftermarket stock for the MkII VT. I like the rifle but the stock has got to go.

A little over a year ago I saw a stainless sporter no.1 in 204. It had a 22 inch sporter weight barrel and weighed around 7lbs. Now they only make the heavy barrel. Anyone know where theres a stainless sporter floating around for sale?

I looked at kimber but I dont think they chamber a 243 in their varmint line up. I really like the pro varmint at 7 lbs 8oz but the biggest chambering is in 22-250. Im not sure if that is up to rockchucks out to 600 or cougar out to 300 . It would be ideal for walking around with in its sporter weig...

Yes an ugly rifle just wont do. Im only buying one rifle in 2009 mostly because Ive got what I need but this is going to be a little dream rifle. Ive found the Sako 85 varmint for 1649.00. If theres a better pretty rifle let me know LOL. :

You can get any barrel lenght you want from Green Mountain or SSK industries. Short, fat,fluted,octagon and on and on. I shoot an ultra light 77 with a 20 inch barrel . Well below sub MOA and fun to carry.

Have looked at several models including Sako 85 varminter,Remington B&C,HS precision too expensive by the way. If you have any ideas on other ultimate 243 rifles please leave info here. Kind of leaning towards the Sako even though its a little heavy.
