Re: 270WSM or 308?

308 and 30-06 both are scary effective. I have shot lots of different calibered rifles, trying out new stuff all the time but found that every other rifle I purchased was a 30-06. So now I own a douglas barreled 700 in a bell and carlson ultra light stock, this rifle has a 24 inch barrel and weights...

CZ 527 American 221 Fireball.

I used to use my dads Remington 221 Fireball as a kid for all sorts of small game, varmint and predator hunting. I want to get a new one for myself and have seen that a lot of members here like the CZs. Has anyone here owned one in the 221 Fireball Caliber? What kind of accuracy did you get? Is a nic...

270 vs 7-08

I currently have a 270 rem 700 XCR in a Bell and Carlson stock . The gun shoots well. I have been toying around with the idea of going to 7-08 so that I can use it for Hunter class shilouette shooting and hunting. I have heard good things about the 7-08 as far as accuracy and mild recoil so it would...

Ruger Compact 243

Has anyone here had any experience with the Ruger Compact 243. I was wondering what kind of accuracy your getting and effective range on coyotes, rockchucks and other predators. I was thinking this would be a real handy walking predator/ varmint rifle. I would probably be shooting 75-90 grain weight ...

Re: 270 or 308 is better ?

Hmmm why not split the difference and get my all time favorite the 7-08. Flatter trajectory than the 308 with the same kind of accuracy. Heavier bullets than the 270 and greater bullet selection. I just have a soft spot in my heart for seven milimeters. Now if I could only choose one or the other I ...

New Ruger Hawkeye Predator.

Just purchased a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 223. This rifle has a one in nine twist. Whats the heaviest bullit weight that twist rate can handle? Picked up five hundred rounds of Hornady 55 grain soft points and 200 rounds of Fiochi 69 grain Match kings. I heard it can handle even longer and heavier ...

New Hawkeye Predator

Just sold my 204 ultra lite and put a Hawkeye Predator in 204 on layaway at Cabelas. It was a distributor exclusive so the stock was grey laminate instead of green. Only costing me 599.00 new. I couldnt pass up THAT price. Has anyone here bought or shot one yet?

Re: Good Size Jersey Yote

I have noticed this year in my area that coyotes are looking bigger and healthier than they ever have in my life. I have had others say the same thing about yotes in their area of the country. I wonder if there is some dormant gene that kicks in whenever we start heading into a small ice age? Some o...

Re: 204 number 1

Well maybe Ill just keep it the way I buy it and see how that works. I already have the ultra light with a twenty inch tube so I can dress that up a little. It does shoot nice. I did see the 1A light sporter but for some reason they discontinued it. They had the 1A in stainless also because I had on...

Has any one seen published data on the balistics of Ruger compact 16.5 inch barrel in 243. Wondering what kind of velocities one would get with the lighter bullits like 60-80 grainers.

I had it in mind to replace my stock on my 77 ultra light all weather with an MPI stock . However as such well made plans seem to disinigrate when the wife finds out about the cost I had to make adjustments. Now I am wondering if the Ruger compact laminate stock will fit my 204 ultra lite ruger. If ...
