Re: Cooper Arms Jackson Varminter question.
The problem is finding a dealer in Western Washington that carries Coopers. I will be traveling to Oregon next month, if anyone knows of a dealer between Portland and Bend let me know.

Cooper Arms Jackson Varminter question.
Has anyone at this site owned one. At 6.5 lbs advertised weight and a slight beavertail forend it seems like the perfect walking varming rifle. I know a few of you here own Coopers but all I have seen are the heavier varmint rifles.

Re: More .20 Cal Fun with Oregon Rock Chucks
Eastern Oregon and beautiful Cooper rifles, the two just seem to go togeather. Nice write up, always good to read your posts. That 20 vartarg is an idea that could grow on a feller. I am feeling the need for a Cooper.

Re: Cooper .20 Vartarg & Rockchucks
Found a new Ruger M77 MKII in the box. A special run, has the old Ruger blueing a 24 inch barrel, Ruger logo leather sling, and a Leupold vx 1 4-12x40, they are asking $890. tax included. Does this seem like a good deal? For those of you that have owned a 204 for a while now, how are your barrels we...

Re: Cooper .20 Vartarg & Rockchucks
Glenn: All that took place just east of Bend. I'd sure miss it too if I was removed from 'here'. Don't blame you a bit. I've wondered about Coopers 14 twist rate for the 223 also, but mine shoots both the 40gr and 50gr BT's into bugholes, so I've not thought too much more about it. I don't shoot 55...

Re: Cooper .20 Vartarg & Rockchucks
I am really missing Eastern Oregon, looks kind of like an area near Crooked river ranch. Never hunted there, just fished the D. That Cooper sure does look nice with that background. I have been thinking of getting a Cooper in a light weight walking configuration, problem is from what I read at the w...

Re: .204 and Black Wolf
I would love to see them legalize the 204 in Washington state for hunting cougar. That is an awesome looking wolf, and I love the nice cold, clear background winter scene. I think hunting predators in deep snow and on snowshoes is the most fun I can have with my clothes on.

CZ 527 American, opinions.
I own a Ruger Hawkeye Predator, which is currently my walking and stationary varminter. Good solid rifle but a bit heavy for any serious patroling of the high country. I was looking at the CZ 527 American in 223 Rem. I was very impressed with the single set trigger, probably the nicest, lightest fac...

Re: Cooper 20VT Meets Skippy
I will be down in June to do some flyfishing, I sure miss living in eastern Oregon. I may be back to stay some day but probably not Madras again......Sisters more than likely. Very nice rifle, and seems to give you predictable results.

Weight reduction through barrel elimination.
I currently own a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 223, I love the way this rifle shoots but hate how it packs. Its pretty durn heavy. It has a 24 inch, magnum contoured barrel. I was wondering about how much weight I would loose if I had it cut back to 20 inches?

Ruger MK III Target.
I currently own a Ruger MK III Target, blued with 6 and 7/8 tapered target barrel, kind of a retro look. I was wondering if anyone makes genuine stag grips for this pistol and if there is a good aftermarket trigger kit for it?

Re: 270WSM or 308?
308 with a good bullet and proper shot placement is more than adequate for elk out to 400 yards. 308 ammo and reloading components are plentiful and cheap. Get good optics, then hit the range or field and practice.....lots. I only use two calibers now 308 and 223, gives us working folks more money f...
