Re: Opinion Wolf or large dog ?

I'm probably a tad younger than you two and I'm not looking FWD to it either.

Re: Opinion Wolf or large dog ?

Bill...hate to say it but the two states directly north you are going down the same path as California; sad to say. darn shame. The wolfs should be caught and then released in Sacramento, right on the Capitol grounds, IM [not so] HO.

Re: Grizzly with a .204

I bet if the truth was known, those present day long range shooters and those that are jumping on that bandwagon, loose more poorly hit animals shot at over 500 yards than they ever admit or even attempt to locate. They are not hunters, they are just people to lazy to stalk and get down and actuall...

Re: Rifle advice!

It is sweet until you put hundreds of rounds through it, then it starts to creep down to 8 oz, then 4 oz, then 1 oz. You better have your Loc-Tite handy. Great rifles, otherwise, and you can always shoot it without setting. But I learned the hard way about how they creep down. How many rounds did y...

Re: extreme range 600 to 1000 yds

I was just curious with the 39gr-SBK because many find them less temperamental than 40 gr-VMAX in factory barrels. Neither of my R700 w/factory tubes shoot the sufficient enough for me but my CZ-527 will. I do have a few Nosler 40 grain pills but haven't tried them. I find it odd of the flexibility ...

Re: extreme range 600 to 1000 yds

RIO,Jim White, you ask why i shoot 40 grain bullets at 1000 yards. Its really simple Because I CAN. I don't recollect asking, I mentioned; "other than shooting paper I'm scratching my head " or words to that effect, merely pointing out the differences in shooting paper or other fixed target...

Re: extreme range 600 to 1000 yds

This isn't the first time I've heard of 204 accuracy at 1000 yards although I have yet to try it. To boot, I have seen what a 220 Swift will do at 1000 yards with a 52 grain pill in a 1-14 twist barrel at 1000 yards many times and it's quite impressive so I figure the 204 would be quite similar. Gre...

I just use 39's everywhere in my 204's and 32 in my 20-VT. And yep, they can flip & twirl better than any Olympian Gymnast or Figure Skater.

Re: New .204 load

I didn't see whether this rifle has a custom or factory chamber or if it's a repeater or single shot. If it's a single shot then the OAL won't matter but if it's a repeater it could very well. Using your data, I would test at 24.4 & 24.6 grains to see how they group. The reason for this is to al...

Re: New .204 load

What Rick said. One can take two different rifles manufactured side-by-side and the odds of them shooting the same are subjective at best because there is just too many variables.

The other thing with load data from a book and reality is the atmosphere conditions and elevation.

HTH,
