Re: Hornady Modified cases
Another option would be to get the tap and make your own. The pitch is 5/16 x 36 tpi, right-hand. I had to order mine but they're out there.

Re: 221 Fireball Build
Thanks to everyone that has replied with your help and advise. I will keep checking the sites for a used Remington or CZ chambered in 221 fireball. Maybe even hold out hope for a Cooper that is more reasonably priced. WRT Remington, there was definitely a difference between the bolt faces and the a...

Re: 221 Fireball Build
but I have read where the ejector is in a different location on the bolt and unsure if that will be an issue. You're correct, there are differences between the 223 & 17/221 Fireball [Remington] bolts. There are also differences in the receiver too in the area of the feed-ramps if memory serves ...

Re: Is all the Copper rerally out
Rick, The only use I have for those steel USGI sectional cleaning rods is using them for: - using them with a M1/M14 USGI chamber brush; - using them with the USGI combo tool especially with a M1 [removing gas cylinder plug, taking the rear sight out, disassembling the bolt, etc.] Short of that.... ...

Re: 600 yard 6 Creedmoor Results
Guy, I'm curious why the 6mm over the 6.5 Creedmoor. I ask because I find myself asking that question. Also included is the 6x47, 6.5 x47 or the 260 Remington or AI.

Re: 20 VarTarg Build?
If you opt for the repeater, a Remington 700 in 221 or 17 Fireball would be a good choice. WRT to the Remington 700 there are differences between the 223 & Fireball receiver, bolt faces and the magazine follower for functionally. A 223 action would work but if you need the reliable and repeatabi...

Re: 204 Reamer what are your thoughts
I heard about the fire, dang, that's bad for all of us here. Are they going to rebuild or call it a career? I'd hate to see them go because a good outfit like that is hard to find and to me it was close enough to drive there if I had to. You're absolutely right about cleaning regiments, many a good ...

Re: 204 Reamer what are your thoughts
Rick,
You shoot a 204 probably as much as anyone I know. Do you have any idea what the barrel life is for a 204? Naturally, it really depends on one's accuracy requirements and presuming the shooter can shoot to that level in the first place. In your case, you shoot some pretty tight groups.

Re: Cooper Model 21 in 20 Vartarg
I've heard Rick talk about the 20VT for sometime now... Once upon a time....I was introduced to ground squirrel shooting right shortly after the 204 came out. On my first trip I borrowed a Ruger 77 in 204 and I became hooked. Shortly thereafter I picked up a CZ-527 American in 204 and quickly procur...

No G48 for me. I have a 17, 20, 22, 23 and 42 and they're all reliable but they won't win a beauty contest.

Re: Washing-ton-O laws
I think it goes w/o saying, the overall goal here is to impede but completely suppress firearm sales. As far as court challenges, I think we have as much of a chance succeeding at the WA Court Of Appeals and the WA Supreme Court as those who plotted to kill Hitler in Roland Freisler's court; none. T...
