Re: Looking for a .204
I was just curious. I have a CZ527 Anerican in 204 and I really like it as a walk around rig. Its ok on the bench to but I have to be careful and not over heat it in a hot rat patch.

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
I'm no expert..but, I prefer to have my inner mouth perfectly round on the mandrel, and leave neck wall thickness difference on the outer. If I'm not mistaken, when sizing cases and using the expander ball; - On the up stroke, the neck passes by the the expander ball untouched and the die/neck bush...

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
JIm I dont know you, but this post made me smile. Thanks for that! I don't post here as often as I should, work keeps me pretty busy. I realize your post is about sizing the brass but the other part of the equation is seating the bullet. There are many options but I like those Redding Competition S...

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
For my varmint rigs I neck size but I do have either a F/L bushing die or a shoulder bump die in case I ever need to bump the shoulder back a tad. The symptom of that would be hard chambering. To date, I've never had to use either and like you Tom, I hate seeing those Redding dies just sitting there...

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
For bolt guns I prefer neck sizing.
For gas guns I prefer F/L sizing but I don't over do it. To much sizing can create a headspace issue and cause more wear & tear on the brass.

Re: Another Epic Rat Shoot
Now I'm pondering if it's worth it to go again after first cut. Always pretty hot by then in June, so on the fence about going. Last time we went after first cut some years ago, it was 90* by 10:00 and the rats went down. So only about two hours of shooting, then sitting in the shade waiting for it...

Hi Rick...sounds like you folks put on quite the party (although I'm sure those critters supplying the entertainment would disagree). As always, a good write up and outstanding pictures.
Good to hear everyone had a good time and made it home safe.

I missed it, what caliber is it. 33-grain bullets I'm presuming a 20 caliber-something.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: What trigger for an AR?
Can't help much with 2-stage triggers but if you want a single-stage ELF-Man makes a darn good one. I have them in my AR-10's and they break as crisp as any other trigger I have.

Re: 600 yard 6 Creedmoor Results
I've wondered why the 25-cal cartridges haven't flourished as much as their 24 & 26-cal counterparts have. With the 6.5CM I hope to have all of the load test and final scope adjustments done by the spring time. Fortunately I bought the components before things got crazy. I also picked up one of ...

Re: 600 yard 6 Creedmoor Results
Hey Guy, Likewise, I apologize for the tardy reply and being on sale in the configuration you like is always a good reason why. I have a 6mm Remington target rifle in a 40x and so we're both in agreement that there is nothing wrong with that caliber at all. I ended up getting the 6.5 Creedmoor. I di...
Re: Woods gun
I used to have a 94 in 44-Mag. I really like it but on occasion when chambering a round, the cartridge would flip and do a 180 and it could be bugger to get it out. Since then I have procured me a couple of 94 Winchester Wrangler [32-Special] and 38-55 [Wrangler II]. But for a handgun, its either my...

Re: Resized fired cases don't fit back into my 204's
One of the best tools you can buy is a cartridge case gauge. It points out; - if the case is to long or short; - if the case is under or over sized. If you're going to use these cases in multiple rifles I'd suggest F/L sizing when switching, otherwise I'd stick to neck sizing. FWIW, when I set up F/...
