45gr Hornady w/ Benchmark??

My 204's seem to favor Benchmark powder. I'm looking for ANY help loading the 45gr SP with Benchmark. I can't find much on this bullet...

I emailed Hodgon and am waiting to hear back. If I do, I'll post my findings.

Anything out there?

Re: Favorite Loads

This forum has been a huge resource for me in my 204 handloads. Thought I might could help return the favor and plug my favorite loads in for someone else to reference. My Remington Model 7: 32gr Sierra SBK Reloader 10x @ 26.1gr Remington 7 1/2 BR Primer 2.250" Shoots a consistent .5MOA or bett...

Re: CZ 527 rings

I have a friend with a 527 who just went through a horror story. Screws on the rings locked up, wouldn't come apart. He called CZ and they sent another set, but in the meantime he did some research and found it to be a common problem with the CZ rings. He opted for a set of Burris rings and has been...

Re: Favorite Loads

I've worked up some loads with my Remington Model 7 .204 using H4895 and Reloader 10x, I couldn't get anything under 1" MOA with 35 Bergers. 39 Sierras were even worse, some loads the gun absolutely hated, others around 1.5" MOA. So far the winner is a 32gr. Sierra BK with 26.1gr of Reload...

Re: Ruger 77 compact 243

Unsure of the .243, but my hunting buddy has one in .223 and it is a nice gun. Great field/truck carry gun!

Re: Getting started Reloading .204 Ruger....What Dies?

I used the Lee Die set and had major problems. The collet die I still use for neck sizing and de-priming. I use a Redding Competition Die for bullet seating now, and it is amazing. The numbers are easy to use, and precise!

First Hog of 2009

Folks, I've been seeing hogs in fields, along roads, but none of them are far from their holes. Finally got the reloads dialed in, and had some time to take a walk in the field this afternoon. Sun shining, 50degrees and light winds. Only saw one hog, but got em! 147 yard head shot with the 32SBK @ 2...

Re: Sound Right?

These 32SBK's over 26.1gr of RE10x seem like the best for my 204. With groundhogs starting to peek out, and spring coming quick, I have decided to go ahead and make this the go-to load. So far, I've been using Remington 7 1/2BR Primers and a COL of 2.250 I'd like to go into mass production mode and ...

Re: Sound Right?

Range Results are in: 32SBK's are the ticket in my little Model 7 .204 26.1gr of RE10x was the winner for the day, measuring just under 1/2" Similar results last week with 26.0gr 35 Beger's are still inconsistant, but hover around an inch. The Savage shot well, but didn't chamber well at all. B...

Re: Sound Right?

Little update, to keep everyone informed and this forum active. Loaded up more tonight. 32SBK w/ RE10x @ 26.1, 26.3, and 26.5 Last outing 26.0 provided a 1/2" group at 100yards. With 26.3 being published max load, hoping to tighten it up once more. Looking good though! 35 Berger w/ H4895 @ 28.0...

Re: Sound Right?

Again, thanks for the help here guys as I continue development. It hasn't been easy with this rifle, but I am headed in the right direction. What I know, is that this little Model 7 doesn't like 39gr. SBK's I had good luck with the 32gr SBK on our last outing. The three loads tested were: All Federa...

Re: Sound Right?

Bump

Looking for some suggestions.

Trying 27.9 and 28.1 with the 35Berger and H4895 this week.

What should I be looking for with the 32BK? I have Win748, H2895, and RE10x.

What COL?

Re: Sound Right?

Thanks for the response! I have plans of trying 28.3gr with the 35Berger next time. 28.2 was the printed max load, but showed no signs of damages or pressure signs. My COL goal was anywhere from 2.240 to 2.250. The brass has some fluctuation. Most are from 2.247-2.250. Should I be thinking more towa...

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd love to try it out, but unfortunately I can't find anybody supplying primers right now.

What gives?!

Re: Sound Right?

Alright Gang- Poor, poor results with the 39gr. on my last outing. Tried 24.6, 24.9 and 25.1 Best group was 1.5-2" from the 25.1 I had loaded up some more rounds of the 35gr Bergers and H4895 from last time. Again, decent results with these. Another 1" group with 27.5 and one 5/8" wit...
