Sound Right?

Tried the 35gr. Berger last week with decent results. One sub MOA group with 27.8gr. 27.5 and 28.0 looked decent as well. All using H4895 and Remington 7 1/2 BR primers Going to try to load up some 39SBK's tomorrow night. I have some Reloader 10x as well. I'm thinking of making three test loads, all...

Testing New Loads

Folks- Had a recommendation from a buddy who does a lot of reloading. When testing his new loads, he commonly shoots at 40-50yard distances. His reasoning, he can still mark groupings, which loads are working best, ect. However, his thought was that it eliminated any error caused by shooting ability...

Re: Time to Think Reloading?

Thought I would give everyone a little update: Well, dove right in and got to reloading! A friend has all the necessary tools, and has been a great help. I'm learning a ton! We had unfortunate luck on our first attempt with the Lee Die. It was sloppy, not smooth, and really messed up 4 bullets in th...

Re: timney triggers

I have a Model 7 in .204Ruger

Beautiful gun! Makes a great compact walk around gun.

Even with an 18power VX-II and a bipod, so nice and light!

Re: MY NEW STOCK!!

Looks great!

Curious, what color does Boyds call that?

I'd love one for my .270 Remington 700 SPS

Re: Time to Think Reloading?

Have you done any tuning on the rifle yet? I'm asking because I would have expected you to be able to get a decent group with one of the factory loadings. As to your groups: are they just scattered, (this can be a sign of easy to fix things like a loose stock to action fit, or grungy barrel); or do...

Time to Think Reloading?

Folks, I've tried just about everything factory ammo has to offer. 32gr. Hornady VMax 40gr. Hornady VMax 32gr. Remington Accu-Tip 34gr. Winchester 39gr. Federal BK None are what I would call great. Had some ok groups with the Federal today, but still getting 1.5-2" groups. The gun is a Remingto...

Re: Anyone shooting Remington 32gr factory loads?

I believe (and I could be mistaken) that the AccuTip bullets are made by Hornady and are merely relabeled from the V-Max name to AccuTip. I thought this to be true when I looked at the ballistics of both the Hornady and the Remington. They are identical. It seems that every gun likes a different lo...

Bad Luck w/ 40gr. Hornady

Hello All- I'm shooting a .204 in a Remington Model 7. 20" barrel and 1:12 rate of twist. I chose the 40gr. VMAX for my hunting purposes. (Hogs, fox, and the occassional coyote) When sighting in, I was getting 1.5-2" groups! Went to the closest sporting goods store and picked up a bo...
