Re: Pics of your 204's

Actually, I've taken a number of hogs this size and larger from a local golf course that's overrun with them. Thompson Center Encore. 6x18x40 Simmons ProHunter. Shoots most ammo one MOA. Even 40 gr VMax is close to that.

Tuesday was my last opportunity to hunt since the NJ season ended yesterday. Hunted the golf course for three hours. All three nines were closed till 10 and one nine was closed all day for maintenance. The whole course is isolated and each nine is mostly islolated from each other. So the hunting is ...

Re: Bushnell Fine cross hairs VERY fine

I have 60 year old eyes and wear bifocals (not while looking through the scope), but with my Nikon Monarch 6x24x50 with fine dot crosshairs, I have no problem because of the scope's clarity and light catching ability.

Re: New To The Forum

To answer your question about the barrel, there was a spot about 11 inches from the muzzle where the surface tension of a cleaning patch would suddenly/momentarily let go and then resume until it emerged. Don't have a bore scope, but you could see with the naked eye that something was not right. So ...

Re: New To The Forum

Thanks for the welcome gentlemen! If I'm not mistaken, the 39 BK would have to be handloaded so I'll have to stick to factory for now. Have read a lot of very good things about that bullet though. I do have a friend whose son handloads, but don't know if he has the dies for 204. Maybe he could do my...

New To The Forum

Hi, Just joined. I hunt with a Thompson Center Encore in 204 topped with a Simmons ProHunter in 6x18x42 and just seriously started hunting groundhods in June. Previously, I had been to central PA at our in-laws a few times. That's what got me hooked. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq237/dbohman/...
