Thanks for the help. Makes sense. Next time I'll waste a couple then shoot for groups. Basically, this is a walking gun. I had some 322 powder and 45 grains and wanted to put them together since I have them and a javelina tag to fill in a couple weeks. Doesn't hurt to keep the groups tight. Thanks a...

the rifle is factory stock. The rifle is the shorter and lighter rifle with the 19" barrel which I believe is free floated. I'm not sure what a recoil lug is? The scope is mounted tight and is a Leupold VX-II 6-18x40. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I'm a bit skittish to start experimenting with this now. Could you elaborate on the statement "Use due caution with that combo. Pressures will build and spike fast." I am not sure I completely understand. Thanks. I'm a relative newbie to reloading and dont want to blow...

Does anyone with a Hornady manual know the max load for this setup? also, does the 7th edition of hornady have the 45 g. sp listed in it for 204? Thanks.

45 gr. Hornady Sp and H322
Has anyone loaded 45 gr. SP's with H322 powder? I have both and want to put them together to see how it works out. Anyone use this combo before? I think I'll start at 22g and work up from there.

IMR4198 and 40 Nosler Ballistic Tips
Hi. I am new to the site and reloading and was wondering whata good starting point would be for IMR 4198 powder with 40 grain Ballistic Tips. Also, when developina load for the forst time, what increments do you typically increase the powder by? .5 grain? How high to go?
