Ballistics software

I am considering purchasing either the Sierra or Hornady ballistics software, as I think that information would be useful from time to time. Anyone have any reccomendations on which program is better or perhaps other similar programs?

Re: Cooper Pool(table) Porn!!!!!

Danny,
I have a Cooper in .204, one of the best shooting rifles I have had over the years. And of course, they are easy on the eyes - yours is a beauty!

Custom .204 rifle ordered..... finally

For about 30 years, I have wanted have a gun built exactly like I wanted. After getting my first .204 last year, a Cooper Varmint, I decided to have a second .204 built, this one from the ground up. Stiller Viper action RBLP Jewell BR trigger Shilen #7HV stainless select/match barrel 1/12 twist cut ...

Re: A New 204 in the Stable

Rick, That is a sweet looking rig! Hope you aren't down too long and can get out and break that new Kimber in. Beautiful stock. I will have to try 35 Bergers and Benchmark as well - CCI BR4's are scarce here in Oklahoma as well. Hope that clears up soon. Can't wait to hear how "Lil Kim" sh...

Re: New build custom project

I have been mulling over the same thing - build a custom rifle or buy a factory rifle. I am 55 and have wanted to build a custom rifle for years, just could never justify it. I wonder still ..... a custom rifle will cost me $2500 - $3000, and the Savage 12 LRPV, at 1/3 the cost did really well for s...

WW and Rem .204 brass

It seems like new Winchester and Remington brass in .204 are difficult to find these days. Does anybody have a source that has these items in stock?

Re: Hornady primer pockets

I bought 600 Hornady Brass and did not realize they had tight primer pockets until once fired. I decided to tough it out and ream them, no small task even using a drill. Next time I will buy Winchester.

Electronic game calls

I am considering getting a FoxPro unit, not sure which one. Does anyone have a preference for a particular unit, brand does not matter? I want something for coyotes this winter in Oklahoma.

Re: I need some more brass

I am using Hornady brass, and it seems to shoot fine. My only issue has been with uniforming primer pockets. Hornady is known for extremely tight primer pockets making uniforming them a nightmare.

Re: New 204 go factory or custom

I have been considering a custom to augment my factory rifles. Picking the action, barrel, stock, trigger so that I get just EXACTLY the gun I want does seem exciting. Everyone should have a custom rifle done once, and the .204 is my caliber of choice. I want a heavy PD gun that will drive tacks.

Re: Which brass

I already found the primer pockets to be insanely hard to uniform - wish I had known that before buying 500 cases.

Which brass

I am trying to build some accurate ammo, so I am doing a lot of case prep - it takes time, but I hope it will pay off. So far, I am using only Hornady cases. Just wondering what other .204 shooters prefer.

Re: Flash hole uniformer

Glad I could help. Mine is in Fine Art, I specialized in Sculpture. It's kinda funny we are having this converstation. It is because of this degree that I bought my .204 (in a round about way). I moved out here (Saskatchewan) to come to school. We don't have gophers where I live back home (Ontairo)...

Re: Flash hole uniformer

trim. Just an aside about acheiving accuracy, and how important each process is. In the arts we use the German word "gestalt", mostly to refer to form or shape in both drawing and sculpture. A deffinition of gestalt would be: the whole is different than the sum of the parts. It may be thou...
