Re: 40gr Bergers anyone
I've had excellent groups out of my Remington SPS Varmint working up a load using 40gr Bergers (24.5gr H-322, Rem 7 1/2 primers.COL 2.250" Remington brass trimmed to 1.840"). 5 shot groups were averaging under 1/2". This will be my coyote hunting load. The 35gr Bergers work great on c...

Re: Remington question
I just purchased a Remington SPS Varmint 204 last week. I put a Carlson & Bell aluminum bedded Medalist stock on it, strapped a Leupold VX III 6.5X20X40 on, and got the X-Mark pro trigger adjusted down to less than 2 lbs. Took it to the range to sight it in and was getting 1/4" 100yd groups...

Re: Dogtown Loads?
I had excellent results with 24.5gr of H-322 with the dog town's with my VTR. under 1 inch groups consistantly.

Re: Bad Luck w/ 40gr. Hornady
My Remington M700 VTR with it's 20" barrel doesn't like the 40gr V-max bullets or the 39gr sierra's, but loves the Hornady 45gr sp's. It also loves 35gr bergers with 25.5gr of H-322, and does real well with Midway Dogtowns and 28grs of Varget. 40gr V-max groups look like a shotgun pattern, the ...

Load data for 45gr Hornady bullet
Since the 45gr Hornady bullet is so new there is not a lot of load data for it. Hornady list just a couple of powders. How long will it be before other powders will get a publishing?

Re: coyote bullet
Try the Hornady 45gr sps bullet if you want accuracy and knock down power, and with the added benefit of less wind deflection. The Bergers are excellent, but I find less accuracy with the sierras out of my rifle. I'll be using the 45gr bullet for coyote, and the 35gr bergers for ground hogs and coyo...

Re: Hornady 45 gr SP
I,ve found the same results with the 45gr Hornady ammo. It's some good stuff. The heating aspect I would agree is as said "less powder being used". I have found it is hard to duplicate accuracy of the factory 45gr ammo with reloads through my Remington VTR. The best load I've come up with ...

VTR Trouble?
My new M700 VTR 204 is a great shooter, but I am concerned about why the bolt closes so hard. Does not matter what ammo I use, it just closes hard, and sometimes very hard. I,ve cleaned the chamber thoughly, cleaned and lubed the bolt to no avail. I do notice the rims of fired casings are dented pre...

Re: Which brass
I bought a box of Winchester 34gr ammo when I picked up my 204 to break in the barrel. 3 out of the 20 rounds had spit necks after being fired  about 4 of the cases were longer than spec by a couple of thousandths. The shortest was 1.848". I have a bag of a hundred Winchester brass that I'...
