Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.
Mike; I bought a Tikka 3 Hunter in .223 with an 8 twist a little over a year ago. It shot so well that I decided that I would trade my Ruger Hawkeye .204 on a Tikka .204. That is when I found out that Beretta had stopped importing the .204 into the United States. I wound up trading the Ruger for a K...

Re: 300 yd groups
I got a .204 built some months ago and on a good calm day i have had a few 1" (5 shot) groups at 450 yards .At 300 yards .75" comes fairly often . When you say .75" at 300 yards is that .75"MOA which would be 2.250" center to center Or actually .75" center to center? T...

Hawkeye Joe
Have not seen any postings from Hawkeye Joe for a long time. I always enjoyed his posts as I though he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about. Anyone know where he is or what happened to him?

Re: BERGER & 4895
Thanks. It's rained here for several days. Today i took advantage of a 1 hour respite and fired 3 rounds with 35g bergers/26.5gr h4895 for 3593 fps, 2 were touching and 1 was 3/4" low. 3 rounds with 27.5 gr h4895 produced 3787 fps, 2 touching and 1 was 3/4"HIGH. These were at 80yds. Rifle...

Re: Can pistol primers be used instead of small rifle primers?
Look on the Home page and on the left side there is a place you can bring up GOOD PRIMER INFO. It does not have anything on pistol primers but it does on small rifle primers. I think the thing of most concern for the .204 is the thickness of the cup and I think I read somewhere that pistol primers h...

Re: Need input on cleaning rod.......
Here's the diameters of the Dewey rods we'd be interested in: .17 Cal Rod: .160" .20 Cal Rod: .190" .22 Cal Rod: .205" The thing to remember here is that using a spear point jag with the proper patch (Sinclair/Pro Shot, etc), will not only clean the bore faster and more efficiently, ...

Re: Need input on cleaning rod.......
I ordered a .20 cal. from Dewey so they either sent me the wrong rod or their .17 cal must be awfully small dia. Rick what does your .20 cal Dewey rod measure for Dia?Rick in Oregon wrote:Dewey has dedicated diameters for both .17 cal and their .20 cal rods; they are not the same.

Re: Need input on cleaning rod.......
since I ruined my Pro-Shot rod this morning. I have a 38 1/2", 17-20 cal, one piece stainless rod, that I've had for a few years. I've never really been happy with this rod, the 20 cal jags are too big, and don't fit well. Also, can't seem to find just the right size patch to use with these ja...

Re: When to anneal??
Rick, What is the reason to never anneal with a spent primer in the case? It appears to me that if you did then you could just go ahead and neck or f/l size and not have to do the de-capping operation. I also have a background in welding and metal fabrication and there must be something that I am no...

Re: My Factory/handload secrets of success
Ike The Forster Bump die can also be used with a neck bushing to bump shoulders back and size the neck. I DON'T use the bushing. I just use it to bump the shoulder back a few thousandths ,That's it. No lube needed for the bump. And yes, I bump after I neck size. I also use the same load in both rif...

Re: My Factory/handload secrets of success
Hawkeye, When you bump the shoulders back with the Forester die is this after you neck size and do you lubricate shoulders for this operation? Also looking at picture with loaded bullet in comparator was wondering what your OAL is and how far you are seated from the lands? Do you use same seating de...

Re: Ruger Hawkeye in 223 cal
Anyone got a torque setting for actions screws? This is blued action and barrel in a walnut stock. The action screw were tighter than 65 in/lbs that I see most sights recommending. I was looking for locktite when they came out. The threads were clean and no evidence of thread loc. Later Ray P...
