Re: Savage Model 12 LP stock worth anything?

Jarred: I just went through a learning experience. I removed the two action screws (no easy feat as the front one had what appeared to be red loctite on the last three threads), I then placed the screws back into the receiver and measured the distance from outside to outside. Then, I measured the tw...

Re: Savage Model 12 LP stock worth anything?

I tried to measure the distance between the action screws and as close as I can tell the measurement is about 4.350. If it would help the serial number is G7298XX. As the rifle is shooting better than I can hold I was afraid to remove it from the stock to make better measurements, as I have no way t...

Re: Savage Model 12 LP stock worth anything?

I'm greener than new grass at this so will just ask. Do you know if your stock will fit a Savage Model 12FV in 204 Ruger? At present it has a black stock and I am thinking about going to a wooden one. Thank you for your time and I await your reply (or anyone's who already knows the answer).

Re: Picture of your loading bench.

I can hardly believe what I see. All that room, with lighting too. Sure beats my hole under the basement stairs with a 40 watt naked light bulb on a pull string. If I had a room like yours Bitman, or Rick, I would have a small hotplate and a folding cot along one side wall and live there. Maybe put ...

Re: The 204um Challenge Winner's Circle

Skipper I hope this is not a double post. Thanks for an excellent contest. I am happy with my results. I had a good group started - and then I fired my second shot. On the up side I received an early Christmas present from my wife of 40 years, a new Savage Model 12FV to replace the used NEF Handi-Ri...

Re: Need help to get started with reloading

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the honest truth is that you WILL NOT save a lot of money by reloading. What you will do is enjoy a lot more shooting and the satisfaction you get from getting good results using something you reload yourself. Here are just a few of the benefits I have found ...

Re: Tell us about yourself...

I am 62 years old, started reloading with a Lee Loader (red and black box) back in early 60s' for a 30-40 Krag, and now reload for about 15 calibers. Went to RCSB in mid 60's and have found no reason to change. Backed into a 204 Ruger on a trade and will see what happens. Live in West Texas and am t...
