Brass Length
How much does brass shorter then recommended trim length affect accuracy. Example: If you trim one too short to say 1.837 or the nosler brass that takes 5 loads to stretch to proper length. While using nosler brass for different load testing the brass stretches in different length. Should you sepera...

Ok. Here are some pics. The brass is worse than the pics show.

Re: 17 Fireball and RL-10X
I understand that but these are very deep. If you can picture where the brass sits in the bolt under the extractor. well the bolt is actually pealling the brass in a certain spot. If you would run you finger around it you would feel a sharp pointy piece the is sticking out. There is also a mark on t...

Re: 17 Fireball and RL-10X
Thanks. Maybe 150 rounds. it's pretty new. I am having a new problem today. It just keeps getting better. As i was testing rounds when i would chamber a round and attempt to close the bolt it was very hard to do. as i pulled the bullet back out it had a scratch going the lenght of the shell and a ga...

Re: 17 Fireball and RL-10X
I think i need to go and clean some brass. Maybe i should just wait til i can get some other primers. You think that could be one of my biggest problems? I want to keep trying but feel i am getting nowere. Then again, i may not find primers for the next 6 months or so.

Re: 17 Fireball and RL-10X
Thanks alot. I think i need to just start all over. I have kept the barrel very clean. I have used the book data for COAL. I only have WSR and Fed 205 primers. Maybe if i ever find some match primers that will help. I love this gun and you know how it feels when you can't get one to shoot how you kn...

Re: 17 Fireball and RL-10X
I tried 2 different loads today. 17g and 17.2g with federal 205 primers and 20g VMAX's. Didn't shoot very well. Maybe 2 inch goups. Check out the link below for the Mach IV. I reduced this load by about 10% not sure what max would be. I didn't go above 17.2g with 20g bullet. I am having trouble find...

Re: Hunting a new farm
Va, Can you set up at the bottom of the hill/ball. I am from pa (live in nc now) if the terrain is anything like up there sometimes it's easier to shoot accross or even a little lower to cove more area, watch the horizon of coarse. might be able to see alot more ground that way. Too fun. I miss hog ...

Federal ammo with Sierra 39BK
I know this maybe one of those questions with a secret answer, however i will give it a try. I have been going out of my mind try to get find a good recipe for the Sierra 39Bk to shoot well out of my 204 Browning A-Bolt. I think i have accomplished my mission with 26.5g of H4895. In the process of m...

Re: Dog Town Bullets
Thanks. I had some loaded with 25.5g of 10x win brass and Fed205 primer but i think my COAL was too long. I think i will lower my COAL and see what happens, if not will try your load. Thanks for the help.
