Re: Forum rat rodeo

What a great offer from RIO. I seem to remember talk of a get together a year or two ago, glad to see it has been revitalized. My brother and I are most definitely in. Flying lessons, sit and stay lessons, lay down, or whatever the rats will learn I am willing to help teach! Being a bit more "l...

Re: Hungry Chucks?

Lenard,
First time to witness this in all these years of hunting chucks shocked both of us seasoned hunters. Nature has a few surprises from time to time, eh?

Re: Hungry Chucks?

Whenever we come back the next day after blasting chucks, the remains are always gone. We just figured the magpies and 'yotes were appreciating the meals we left.

Still strange after all these years to not witness this before.

Hungry Chucks?

We saw something last month my hunting buddy and I have never seen in over 35 years of chuck hunting. About 120 yards away a freshly killed chuck was being inspected by another chuck. Suddenly the one doing the inspecting started feasting on the dead one, and not just picking at it, but real...

Re: Skippy and the handcart company

STH As far as Rock Chucks go, the 204 with the 39 SBK does the DRT thing quite well. Though, with the heavier chucks it just will not spit them into the air at 300 yards like the Sage Rats pictured around this site do. While I have yet to "harvest" a sage rat, I do know an 8 pound chuck at...

Re: I don't know if this is an urban legend or if it's true

RIO, That picture is enough to get any half a$$ chuck hunters eyebrows to raise! We never shoot any that are skylined, but the chuck up on top would be a good "thrower" and a nice long way to the ground to boot! That picture was taken before the first shot for sure! Four large chucks...

Heal quickly, be done with all this surgery silliness, and get back to business!

We could be overrun by Skippy if you are not there to do your part!

Re: Long range prairie dogs with the 204

Hotshot,
I was going to ask you if you have figured out that reticle yet! Mine is still mostly un-proven and I have not had a chance to use it at the range other than 200 yards.
Unfortuneatly it is currently back at Leupold for service so I will not have it to play with for several weeks. :(

Re: Dog Town Bullets

As an aside, every Lee Collet Die I have ever used needed to have the mandrel reduced in size. Usually by .0005 in order to hold a bullet properly.

I am using a bushing die for the 204 and like it mucho better. :D

Re: Rick in Oregon

Mr.RIO,
I am finally getting to go and search for "sage rats" this coming weekend! If and when I find them the first shot with the 204 is yours. Metaphorically of course, but I know you will not miss! (just hope you don't mind using a Cooper)

Get well soon!

Re: Rick in Oregon

Well after nearly a week I have finally been granted permission to join up with you guys, can't think of a better place for a first post. I have been visiting this site for months now and have been trading e's with Rick in Oregon for a few weeks about this and that. Rick, I sort of wondered why you ...
