Re: 204 heavy bullet problems
No experience with anything heavier than a 40 grain bullet for me.

Re: 204 heavy bullet problems
Good call, my sentiments exactly. I am going to see if any one up here sells RL10X up here. It seems to offer the best of all worlds. Have you tried H322? I have heard this is also a fantastic option. Thanks again hotshot for your insight.

Top 3 Powders for the 204 Ruger
Here's a good one for all of you, if you only had 3 powders with which to reload the 204 ruger, which would they be? Taking into account of coarse velocity and accuracy. This was just a stupid thought that came into my brain and I thought I would pose the question in this forum. Curious to see what ...

Re: 204 heavy bullet problems
Too late on dumping the reloads, I did keep 20 of them for future work though. This is very true the gun only had about 50 rounds down the tube yesterday so maybe I will just shoot a few boxes of factory stuff because that is what the gun is sighted for untill I get some more bullets down the pipe. ...

204 heavy bullet problems
Is there any cure for a gun that wont shoot 39/40 grain bullets? Bought a new savage yesterday and took it to the range today. Got it sighted with 32 grain factory ammo and then tried some reloads with 39 grain Bkings and boy was I surprised!!! Crappy part is I have over 100 rounds of ammo loaded wi...

Re: VSSF II Update
Sure did, took it home and cleaned as if I had been shooting it. Have put almost 200 rounds through it and still the same crap. Am hoping I will get an answer this week as to what they are going to do.

Re: VSSF II Update
Thanks. Happily, the remington warranty guy lives 20 minutes away and the gun was going out yesterday to him. I told the guy at cabelas what was going on, how annoyed I was and the story behind this rifle and I was assured it will be dealt with.

Re: VSSF II Update
The barrel is very clean, my routine in the past has allowed me to shoot sub 1/3" groups with my method. All I have to say is they better get with the program or I will NEVER buy another remington.

Re: VSSF II Update
In answer to your questions: The gun has already gone back to where it was bought so I have no pics of it. The VSSF II's barrel IS free floated and bedded in an HS precision stock remember. As far as the brass and primers go, all is normal, starting loads or max loads made no difference. The scope p...

VSSF II Update
After several trips to the range, I have come to the conclusion that my new rifle is JUNK!!!! This thing will not group to save it's life despite trying the best powders for the caliber and the best bullets. Took it to a gunsmith and his conclusions were: Crown: unpolished!!! Bore: ULTRA ROUGH!!! Ot...

Re: Need info on a remington Model 7 predator!!!!
Just bought 1 a few months ago and I love it!!! Short, light and if you get it in 204 ruger you have a winner on your hands. Do yourself a favor, have the trigger done and be prepared to bed it as well. Out of the box it is a 1" gun with factory hornady ammo, which is acceptable but I know the ...

Re: Model 7 Predator Update
Going to get the gun bedded and floated anyway, I have a bunch of stuff made with benchmark as well. Have not had a chance to shoot them yet. A switch to H322 might be in the works if all of this fails.

Re: Model 7 Predator Update
At least my smith knows what he is talking about. And thank you for your interest. The trigger has allready been done, just a bit under 3 pounds. Was thinking about replacing it but I am rather fond of remington's new trigger, while not the last word in precision, for my situation and shooting style...

Model 7 Predator Update
After finally loading some ammo and getting out to punch some paper I have come to the conclusion that this model seven is CRAP!!! Shot exactly 3 groups that actually resembled a group and the rest looked like I was patterning a shotgun!?! These results were with varget and 32 grain b.kings and vmax...
