Re: 204 at 600 yards?

Do you try 600 yards! I think the accuracy of the 204 suprises most of the bigger calibers at ranges between 300-400 yards. With pratice of coarse. It can be a challenge to get on the paper at 600 yards. If you beat the big guns that's even better. Any time you can get range time in the friends make...

Re: Breaking in a Barrel???

I have some Microfyne Graphite- Extra-fine (-325 mesh) graphite.
I use this in dry form on triggers and such, can I make my own "homebrew" colloidal graphite! Or might I run into issues with WS2 & graphite!

Re: Breaking in a Barrel???

I have been using WS2 on almost all bullets. I also coat "paint" the barrel much the same as you do. I did not know WS2 was corrosive!

Re: help me decide

cynergyguy, Last spring I was looking into the samething. I also- I want to spend as little as possible but I do want a quality product. I decided on the CZ line. I could not find much not to like with thier line up from including the CZ 452 American and Varmint 22LR. A 22WMR and 17HMR calibers. I e...

Re: Reading target group characteristics.

I received my copy of "The Ultimate in Rifle Accuracy " today. I paid $.73 for the book plus $3.99 shipping and it's in new condition.
Thanks for your all's advice, it looks like a good read.

Re: Group reading.

Thanks for the input on the books. I have never bought on book online but feel I need a couple of them. Over the summer I installed a Jewel Target Trigger. This improved overall grouping. It also made the other culprits for inconstant shooting apparent. For me breathing, shoulder pressure and grip. ...

Reading target group characteristics.

In a different forum post- Reloading the 204- Post subject: where to go from here. I did want to hijack that thread! Rich V - said- both vertical and horizontal stringing with fliers. Some fliers may be from gusting winds, bedding, loose scope, ect. Vertical strings could be from load variances, or ...

Re: Primer Seating Depth!

I tried to measure the seated primers but had a hard time getting a repeatable measurment. Will try and find a micrometer to measure them. My list of things to check is getting longer. Not much to do in the winter anyway. Thanks again.

Re: Help- Big dog problems

A guy up the road shot a bear hunting dog with a tracking collar on it and didn't bother to check or remove collar, because it was on his property. Boy did he pay. :hammer:

Re: Primer Seating Depth!

Thanks, since I had a fairly new rifle and new RCBS Competition dies. I did not think of headspace! I have read about it but never experienced it. Now I need to get a headspace gage and check to make sure that the full length die is adjusted properly. Can I just bump with that or should I be looking...

Primer Seating Depth!

Over the summer I had a few reloads that didn't go off! Maybe 6 out of 300. I originally thought the primers or pockets were at fault, but someone said firing spring or pin might be the fault. Another said use a hand primer, I use the one on the RCBS Rock Chucker Press. So at that time I didn't look...

Re: free recoil?

Free recoil is when you use nothing but the trigger finger pad on the rifle when firing from the bench. Shoulder does not contact butt of rifle when shooting. I started shooting this way this fall. I think that this has caused me to "trigger slap" now. Don't know if I like that. Hard hold ...
