Re: FL sizing vs neck sizing
Tried 4350,had pressure issues (bolt lift) well under max. Im going to check concentricity of both full and neck sized cases,I strongly suspect an out of square condition with the dies seating in the press,I think will be more exaggerated with the neck sizing die.Im going to try to "square the ...

Re: FL sizing vs neck sizing
I have around 100 rounds thru it,had it bedded and floated ,Ill have to check the stock clearance. As far as the ragged hole with the neck sized rounds,I suspect a squareness issue with the die.Im using an older RCBS press, there doesnt seem to be any excessive wear, and I havent had any probs with oth...

FL sizing vs neck sizing
Hi guys, trying to work up a load for a new 700rem,7mm mag, bedded, floated . Im trying both neck sizing and full length sizing,150 gr sierra SBT,60.5 gr 4831,Federal 215 primers. All 3 shot groups are 1 inch or better, the neck sized groups slightly tighter, however,I notice the holes in the neck sized g...

Re: My .204 w/ pic
Hi Scott,Ive had good luck with the 32 gr vmax in front of 26.5 gr Benchmark,Federal 205s,COAL of 2.265.With the blitzs,Im using 27.5 gr Benchmark, seems like the blitzs shoot better at higher velocities than the vmaxs.I have some 39 gr blitzs Ive yet to try, seems like a lot of guys here really like ...

Re: Help to pick a factory .204
HI Ben,just had the smith reduce the pull to 3 lbs,I try to keep all my 700s around the same, but the LVSF trigger doesnt seem as crisp as the others.Dont know if its a workmanship issue or just the way the trigger is,but Im leaning toward replacing it with an aftermarket trigger ,Matt

Re: Help to pick a factory .204
Added the LVSF in 204 to the 700 collection recently, did nothing more than a trigger job and put on a Harris swivel bipod, stoked it with some benchmark and 32 gr. Blitz, the thing simply shoots and its a joy to carry at around 7 lbs with scope,Matt

Re: The journey is nearing an end!!!!
Been reading these threads for some time now,and I see some valid points made but also believe too much is made of the quality of manucfature of the different brands of guns.My buddies and I all have our favorite brands(I have a safe full of Rems),but we all agree that all need a little tweaking as ...

Re: lvsf owners?
All my 700s shoot much better after bedding and a trigger job.I havent had thelvsf done yet but plan to do so when I have a new trigger installed.I have a 700 heavy barrel in 6 mm thats 35 yrs old and still shoots cloverleafs with no more done to it but bedding and trigger.Im still developing loads ...

Re: lvsf owners?
I have been getting the best groups with 27.5 gr. Benchmark and 32 gr. blitz. Havent done much experimenting yet,but I have a box of 39 gr blitz to play with.Had some good success with 32 gr vmax, although at lower velocities. had the trigger worked when I bought it,but Im thinking about installing a...

Re: Having trouble with new Remington 700 VTR accuracy
I also hunt groundhogs in Pa,Northeast, and I recently purchased the 700 LVSF,topped it wiht a 3.5-10VX3.I felt this would fill the bill as I hunt the same terrain as you are, most of my shots are in the 200-300 yd range. My first 60 rounds thru it were with hornady ammo with 32 gr VMAX.Most groups wer...

Re: Is 22" too short for a 204 Ruger?
I just added the LVSF to my 700 collection, just had a trigger job done on it so far,my smith told me to shoot it for a while before deciding on bedding and floating.I have been shooting 32 gr.BKs with benchmerk,it shows surprising accuracy for a factory rifle. Its also a great little carry rifle, the ...
