try re-bending the spring a bit! I fiddled with my spring a little while back and ended up bending it back the way it was.

If it continues to be an issue, you may want to call Savage CS. They may ask you to send it in to get 'er back to normal again!

Sorry to hear of your loss Song Dog. I can relate...I lost my mother a few years back to lung problems.
