Re: Results of our Elk hunt!

15 minutes in the gut heap looking for the bullet...that kid's a hunter! Good tracker, too. Good job.

Re: SEEING THE HITS

I had that problem the other day. My bench rotates but doesn't lock, so sometimes the recoil would rotate the table a little bit and I'd miss seeing the shot. I'd just listen to hear Dad laughing and I'd know I hit it. I'm going to rig up some sort of engagement for the pivot so the bench sta...

Re: CO prairie rats (prelude)

Steve V, it seems to be pretty good for the little buggers out there. We hit two different towns pretty good last year and this was a different spot altogether. Seems everyone chases coyotes out there but surprisingly enough, the prarie rats don't get as much pressure. We expended over 300 rounds in...

Re: CO prairie rats (prelude)

Wow. What an awesome day! Sun shining but only about 70 degrees, wind had is moments but really came and went, allowing some calm moments for shooting. We bounced back and forth between two spots, it seemed like just as we got to one spot the dogs were relaxing and coming back out. Some FAT dogs out...

CO prairie rats (prelude)

I've been forced to listen to tales of ray and rick and rod on sunny days afield, thinning the prairie rat herd and reaping the fruits of labor from these guns we put so much into. It's more than a little annoying, I tell you, although I would be hard pressed to skip over such a thread. It seems lik...

Silverfox, I hope you never have to use it. But if you do, I can't wait for the write-up and pics!

Re: Another yote from off the deck X 3

It's not good to leave an empty house when you're chasing moose. I'd be happy to house-sit for you.

You have got to have the lowest mpg/coyote ratio of anyone out there. You're a fortunate man!

Re: Jeweled 700 bolt

I had a good time doing the paint on this gun anyway, I'd like to do it do the bolt also, I guess. If you have some free time, Rick, could you shoot me a PM with a little more detail on your process? I've yet to get far enough down my Gotta Get list to have a drill press but I've been thinking of bu...

Jeweled 700 bolt

Question for the collective genius: I like my Rem 700 SPS Varmint just fine, but I notice some other 700 models have that nice-looking jeweled bolt. I'd like to get one of those. I don't like asking for help on something I can track down myself, but I've been browsing for a few weeks and haven't fig...

Thanks for posting! Just last week Pops said "The .17 wouldn't hurt that tank." And I said " My .204 would hurt that tank." lmao Now I have to show him these pics.

Re: First trip to dogtowns this weekend

You may have timed it right, the last 2 weeks we had to postpone going out because the wind has been so bad, but it's calming down this week. Get up early because we're getting to the time of year where we trade wind for afternoon rain. Have fun, welcome to CO, and make sure you shoot every last ro...

Re: Need rings

:wall: I went through and tried to make sure I had it right. I even looked twice because the first time I didn't find the 'signature' rings. Big help I am. Didn't think to look for stock.

I just found 3 different sets on ebay, though.
