Re: o.a.l too long
Im sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble. I havent used RCBS dies for many years now, I use Hornady dies. I like the floating sleeve in the seater die. If you cant make your die work, you might order a seater die from Hornady, its pretty much error free. If you backed out your die a full...

What make of bullet was in the case when you started adjusting the seater plug ? You should have enough adjusment in your seating plug to push the bullet all the way into the case. You might want to call RCBS and talk to one of their reps, you may have gotten a short seater stem. RCBS has a fantasti...

Re: Slow Fire
Lenard I have a 700 with the J lock and have (had) the same problems you have.Mine wouldnt hit within a foot of the target either, so its not your fault. About every fifth shot I would have to beat the bolt open or closed with the palm of my hand on very mild loads. Also only one of the lugs was act...

Re: Breaking in a Barrel???
There are a lot of ways to break in a barrel, but one thing I always do is, After cleaning the bore (after however many shots you do it) each time I run a clean bore brush and a couple of patches soaked with plain Windex Window Cleaner down the barrel. Then i run dry patches through the bore to make...
