Re: Developing long range loads.
I might be wrong, probably am but, if you shoot a 1.25 inch group at 100 yards this same group moved out to 300 yards would measure 3.75 inches. I can't figure out how a load that produces 1.25 moa at 100 yards produces .5 moa at 300 yards. I wish someone would clear this up for me.

Re: Some Questions
I second the RCBS Chargemaster. IT is fast and accurate. Also the customer service is great.

Re: cooldown time
First, thanks for the replies. Today I went out and followed Hotshot's advice, 1 minute between shots 5 minutes between groups, usually longer. Same loads as yesterday but shot in different order. Cleaned gun after yesterdays shooting , made 3 fouling shots waited 1 hour to try loads. These were all...

cooldown time
I'm wondering how long I should wait between shots and groups to allow the barrel to cool. I am fairly new to this target shooting and I'm pretty sure a little more patience would help my groups. The last two outings to shoot resulted in the best group being the first. Also while trying out a few lo...

Re: New Member
Welcome, Varmintcaller. I recently joined this group after my purchase of a Howa 1500 varminter with the Hogue stock. I'm still working on some loads. I got a can of Reloader 10x today along with some CCI BR4 primers. The trigger on the Howa is just what everyone says but I kept fiddling with mine u...

Re: Going to Start working up a load for 39 grain Sierra's
Squatting Wolf, the Hodgdon data shows 28 grain starting and 30 grain max for BLC-2. I was working on loads for BLC-2 with 39 gr. BK's but I quit at 29.5 grains because of pierced primers, see CCI400 primer post. 29.5 grains looked good 4 of the 5 shots were touching, 1/4". The 5th shot made fo...

Re: CCI 400 primers
Thanks, Silverfox. I will definitely change primers. I wish I hadn't bought a box of 1000. Oh well, no sense taking a chance, could get blinded possibly. I'm wondering if I will get any change in velocity with a different primer. I was getting excited about the accuracy. I'll just have to try again ...

Re: differences in COAL?
If you are loading a compressed charge you could have a big difference in col. .02 is too much difference to be reliably accurate. Something is not right. What powder and weight in your loads? Also are you weighing your powder or throwing?

CCI 400 primers
I am new to reloading for the 204 and I think I shoulda investigated the options before buying. I bought my gun, a Howa 1500 Varminter, at a gunshow. There is a guy at these gunshows selling reloading supplies and I asked him to recommend some powder and primers etc to load the 204. He said to try B...

Re: Tell us about yourself...
Hi, my name is Donald but everyone calls me Duck. I'm 56 years old, a farmer from Mississippi. I just recently acquired my first 204. It's a Howa 1500 Varminter with a 24" heavy barrel and a Hogue stock. I'm still working up some loads. I have some 32 grain V-Max loaded with BL-C(2). I have som...
