While burning in the barrel on my new Model 25 .204 Ruger,
I shot several 3/8" groups at 100 yds. Imagine what it will do
when broke in. Shot 40 gr VMax wwith 28.0 gr Varget.

Re: coyote bullet
Different guns shoot the same bullets different. I had a H&R .204 bull barrel and it didn't shoot any on them worth a crap.
Sold the gun, now I have the new Savage Model 25 Varminter in .204 Ruger. We will see how this goes.

Re: Savage Preditor or Modle 25 sporter ?
Just wondering if anybody has found a Savage modle 25 in 204 yet ? If so, is it a varminter or a sporter ? How does it shoot ? I read where the Accu-Trigger only goes down to 2 1/2 pounds on the 25, but the modle 12 and 10 Preditor Hunter - adjust down to 1 1/2 pounds. Maybe the modle 25 is'nt desi...

Re: Keyhole help!?!?
I had the same problem with the 39gr blitzkings. But the 32 gr shoot fine, or should I say they don't keyhole.
I have had a hard time gettig any hand load to shoot a decent group. I finally got a 1 inch group with 32 grain blitzkings and 35 grain Bergers with 26 grains of Benchmark.

Re: Manually cooling a barrel?
I bought a minow bucket arerator and took the little ball off and I insert the tube in the chamber.
It sends cool air down the barrel without leaving moister. WalMart - $7.00
Works great, runs on 2 AA batteries.

Well I tried some 40 gr Hornady's and they also key hole. I'm just about done with rifle, I think it is a piece of crap.

Re: senistive to temp ????
Here is what I know, which ain't much. I have loaded my Savage 22-250 for years this way. In colder weather I load H380 gives my 3/8" groups @ 100 & 200 yds. But when the temp rises, I have to go to Varget. My H380 loads will go all over the paper. Varget which is not as accurate for me, 1/...

32 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
I am looking for loads for these. I am using Varget powder.
I have been having problems getting my loads to work.
Been working with 39gr BK's with nothing that would work.

Re: Key Hole Problem
Well today I measured my bullets. Those 39gr Blitzkings only measure .203, whereas my other bullets all measure .204.
I think with them rattling down the tube might be the problem.

Re: Looking at getting a new varminter. Any suggestions?
I love my CZ's, but for an inexpensive Coyote gun I really like my Savage 22-250 with the AccuTrigger. Mine is set at 26oz and I've nailed them out to 414 yds, no problem. Shoots 1/4" @ 100yd and .40" @ 200 ys.I bought the cheap Model 11, then added a boyd's Laminate thumbhole stock. This ...

Key Hole Problem
:wall: I have been trying to work up a load for the 39 gr Sierra Blitz King. I have used every load in my 5 or 6 books. I have been shooting at 50 yds with no hits on paper, so today I moved to 25yds. Using 27.5 grs Varget with an average velocity of 3498fps and 28.0 grs of Varget with average veloc...
