Reloader 12 in the .204?
I see that Alliant is no longer making this powder. Has anyone tried it in the .204? My dealer has a few older canisters on the shelf.

Re: Protektor products/gunrest?
Gary,
That is a terrific offer! PM sent, and thank you.
I've only been at this forum a very short while, and reading through the various posts leaves me with the impression that this is a dedicated bunch, who are very willing to share. I'm glad I found it!

Re: Recommendations for getting started?
Gotcha.
I'll try a couple of different weights - maybe 32 and 39 grain, with 4198 and 4895, both of which are in my cabinet.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: Protektor products/gunrest?
Rick, Thanks for your reply. I stared at your photo, wracking my brain wondering where I'd seen that picture... it was at Saubier! That is a terrific looking rest. I'm afraid it's a bit pricey for me right now, so I'm looking at less expensive rests. Should my involvement in this hobby grow (somethi...

Re: Tell us about yourself...
.204um... very creative! My name is Charley and I'm a resident of Pennsylvania. I've been a duck hunter since age 14, and a legal duck, goose and pheasant hunter since age 18. For over 20 years I've hunted birds over Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. I build my own boats, and I love to fish in salt and fre...

Hornady brass for the .204 - better than Rem or WW?
The dealer who sold me my 527 Varmint called and said he had some .204 brass to give me, if I wanted it. I stopped by, and he handed me 140 pieces of once-fired Hornady brass, gratis. I've bought a number of rifles and handguns from him over the years, because he's great to deal with, and he's shown...

Protektor products/gunrest?
I'd like to get a gun rest. From what I've read, it would be more useful than a bipod in determining my rifle's abilities. This year I bought a flint cover from Protektor. Nice leather, and looking at their other products has me considering their rest and bags: http://www.protektormodel.com/52.htm h...

Re: Recommendations for getting started?
Jo191145, What kind of accuracy are you experiencing using your methods? I'm looking to have a chance at good accuracy from the start. From what I've read, less than MOA is the norm. Playing with loads and seating depth and getting MOA would be a good start. I think I need to learn a bit more about ...

Nice shooting!
What bullet and load were you using? Every .204 kill I've seen (online) have had significant "splash" wounds.

Re: Recommendations for getting started?
Lee C.,
Thanks for the list. I actually have all except the flash hole uniformer and primer pocket reamer.
Is it critical to accuracy at this level to measure (and correct) runout? If so, which tool would you recommend?
$80/100? Wow, I thought .38-55 was getting pricey at $25/100!

Recommendations for getting started?
I recently bought a CZ 527 Varmint in .204. It is the only bolt rifle I currently have (I played with a 700 in .243 a year or two back) and bought it because small bore shooting has caught my interest. I'd like to make -1" groups at 200 yards (the length of my club's range). I reload for .30-30...
