Re: Brass Length

Sunday I prepped some once fired Hornady brass that were factory rounds. They varied quite a bit in length with the short ones at 1.836. I trimmed them all to that length. It shouldn't be a problem for me. I don't load longer than what my magazine will hold so there will be plenty of bullet in the c...

Reloader 7

Has anyone tried this powder in their 204? With the shortage of everything my local dealer does have a pound of this stuff left. I shoot mainly 35 Bergers and Dogtowns sometimes 39 Sierras. I have load data for 35 Bergers that I received from Berger but no mention of this powder. Thanks. Dave

Re: Switching to remington brass.

I use Remington brass almost exclusively but today I'm going to be prepping some once fired Hornady brass. I have 100 cases of fired factory rounds. I debur the flash holes on my brass and have noticed that the Remingtons can have a sizable burr on the inside. It will be interesting to see what the ...

Re: Case Trimming

If I'm resizing cases that have been fired in my rifle with a FL die I set my die so that it just touches the shell holder with the ram all the way up and then turn the die back up about a half a turn. Size a case and see how it chambers. If its still to tight lower the die slightly and size again u...

Re: Dogtown Loads?

Welcome. I've loaded 26.1 grns of H322 and 28 grns of 4895 with good results with the Dogtowns. Anyhow for cheap bullets you can get them to shoot under an inch consistently and sometimes they will group around 1/2". Dave

Re: Parallax Question

Thanks for the replies. I went to the range yesterday and was able to adjust the parallax and keep a clear sight picture. Learned a new trick. Thanks. Dave

Re: REMINGTON XMARK PRO TRIGGER

I adjusted mine down to 2.5 lbs and I've heard of people going lighter. I only adjusted the pull weight screw. I left the other adjustments alone. I think its a nice trigger. Dave

Parallax Question

I once shot a five shot group with 3 shots in one ragged hole and 2 shots almost in one hole about a half inch away. It was suggested to me that I might not have my parallax set correctly. This group was shot at 100 yds. What is exactly the correct way to set parallax other than just trying to dial ...

Re: Leupold Rifleman line

Hey Tim I bought my scope at Kjergaards! Small world. Borch's in Marshall is really pushing them too. So far I like the scope but I really haven't given it a good workout yet. I've shot spme groups with it. Everything seems to work just fine. 4 clicks is one inch at 100. The optics are clear. BTW I ...

Re: Help to pick a factory .204

I think Savages have excellent triggers but I don't have any experience with them. I also have a CZ American and its light and very well balanced. The set trigger is also a plus. Easy to adjust. Another vote for CZ altho somewhat of a biased vote. Dave

Re: Powder for 204 and 243

I agree with Alco and 4895. It works nicely in both my 243 and 204. It was my go to powder for my 243 for years. However I use the IMR variety simply because its available locally and the Hodgdon isn't

Re: Midway dogtown/midsouth varmint nightmare bullets

How are they doing for you dave? ya loading 204 or 224 cal? Actually you can get some pretty good accuracy out of them. I shoot them quite often to help keep the shooting costs down and my trigger finger exercised. I'm shooting a 204 and using a new rifle this year so I'll be putting some on paper ...

I have both-Midway and Midsouth. They're identical. Midsouth's prices used to be quite a bit cheaper. Just finished loading some up as a matter of fact. Dave

Re: CZ 527 and Scope rings

Unclebob, I don't know how some seller on eBay gets away with selling so far below retail. Maybe its because they get bid on, I don't know, but it was a great deal. Good luck! -Ben I've bought a couple of scopes on ebay without any problems. Leopold has issued warnings about ebay scopes that were b...

Re: 204 number 1

Ruger used to chamber the #1 Sporter in 204. I believe it weighed somewhere around 7 lbs. Its now discontinued. I should have bought one when I had a chance. I haven't seen any used ones but I can't afford it now anyhow. Your idea should work.
