Remington VTR
Just picked up my new Rem 700 VTR in 204 tonight. This is my third 700 so you you know what I like. I put it on my postal scale and it actually weighs slightly less than the touted 7.5 lbs. I found this to be unusual in "truth in advertising" these days. Don't have anything loaded up for i...

I like to hunt these and angry grizzly bears with my 204. It makes for some very interesting days ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: 204 Cleaning Questions
Make sure all the thread sizes are compatible. You can get all the 20 cal stuff from Midway, Midsouth, Siclair. I believe everything I have is 5-40 size. Dave

Re: Dog Town Bullets
I have only Bergers and Dog Towns on hand right now. All the Dog Towns that I have measured come in at .203-slightly undersized but everyone is the same while the Bergers do measure .204. I haven't had any problems with the Dog Towns in FL sized cases and have found them to be very accurate. Certai...

Re: looking for reloading book information
The shop I went to today had no books left, however, they had a beginners reloading kit, Horandy name, it included a book. Is there a "kit" anyone cares to recommend? Here's a book that can help. Reloading isn't rocket science. Its a fun hobby that allows you to shoot alot more for the mo...

Re: What is going on??
Here's what my rifle does with factory Hornady 40 grainers at 10 yds. At 100 its a ten foot group. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/brnsam/100_2604.jpg And here's a typical group at 100 yds using 34 grain Midway Dog Towns. 40 grainers will not work in my gun. Re: Dog Town Bullets
I opened my second box of Dog Towns today. The ones I measured were all at .203. I also measured my Bergers again at the same time and they were all at .204. I've been playing around with some Dog Town loads and they can be very accurate. It will take more time to get everything figured out. Today I...

Re: acccuracy?
It sure depends on what your target is. A 308 shooting heavey target bullets is not fun to shoot in a prairie dog town. I use a 6mm-06 for long range pd's and I get tired of shooting that rifle real quick. A longer range 20 cal would be very nice to shoot 100 rounds in an afternoon at varmints. If ...

Re: trouble finding good load
I just checked some 35 grain Bergers and they all measure .204. So the Dog Towns are slightly smaller in diameter by .001"

Re: trouble finding good load
I'm working up a load right now with Dog Towns using IMR 4895 starting at 27.3 grains. Have 4 groups loaded up at different OAl's. Hopefully I'll be able to shoot next Sat. Have fun Greystone, have you noticed any problems with some of your Dogtown bullets seeming to be undersized? I bought a box, ...

This is how I break in a new barrel. It will shine like chrome when you"re done. After that just a jag and solvent followed up with a good lube. Dave
