Midway Dogtowns
Still trying to fin an accurate load for Midway Dogtowns. I shot this morning using 24 grns of H322. I think I was getting tighter groups with 4895 but both me and my dealer are out. This is the first group that I shot this morning COL 2.310, Rem cases and 7 1/2 primers http://img.photobucket.com/al...

Re: Barrel twist and bullet performance
I've had 2-204's. Both have 1/12 twist. The first one that I had would not stabilize a 40 grain V-Max at all. It was already sideways through the target 10/15 feet from the muzzle. The 204 I have now shoots the 40 grain V-Max nicely with the same loading. Don't know why? :?: I remember when the 243 ...

Re: VSSF II Update
As far as remington's qaulity control, the shop I deal with told me of a guy who bought a VTR that did not have rifling to the end of the barrel!?! I I have Rem 700 VTR in a 204 and I'm very pleased with the accuracy. The rifling stops before the muzzle break. That's the way they're made. Your shop...

Re: Konus Pro - anybody tried one yet?
I have a Konus Pro 6X24. This scope has been on 3 different rifles. A 243 and 2 204's. The scope hasn't failed me yet. Mine isn't the mil dot but the 30/30 reticule which I really like. Right now its sitting on top of my new rem 700 VTR. I beleive I paid 99 bucks for it on ebay a couple of years ago...

Re: Restocking time..........??????
I have both the midway and Midsouth 34 grn bullets and they look to be identical to me. Mid Souths price I think is about 10 bucks per 500 cheaper. Packaging is just different. I shoot these things all the time but I'm working with a new rifle right now and haven't found a great load for them-but th...

Re: Help needed Dies
You are getting good advice but if you're on a budget then the Lee dies will work also. I have both the FL and neck sizing dies. Thinking about getting a Forster Bump die tho. These pennies were shot this morning. 3 shots and 3 pennies at 100 yds. Cases sized with Lee neck sizing die. Dave http://im...

Thanks for the reply. I'll be going to my dealer on Monday and will check what he has on the shelf. H322 might be an option also. Thanks. Dave

IMR4198 abd 35 grn Bergers
Howdy My go to powder is 4895 but I'm almost out and my dealer is out and only orders powder once a year. I just bought a new rifle-a Rem 700 VTR-the one with the triangular barrel with a muzzle brake machined in. The way I see it the muzzle brake effectively reduces the barrel length to 20" so...

Re: Manually cooling a barrel?
I bought a minow bucket arerator and took the little ball off and I insert the tube in the chamber. It sends cool air down the barrel without leaving moister. WalMart - $7.00 Works great, runs on 2 AA batteries. Off to Wal Mart I go. This sounds like a nifty idea. I'm shooting a new gun for the fir...

Re: Have you ever used Kodak Easyshare
I have a Kodak camera with easyshare on my computer but I really don't use easyshare. If you want to post pictures on here you have to use a web hosting site. I use Photo Bucket. Very easy to up load your pics to and then to post on sites such as this. Once you've done it a couple of times it become...

Re: Reloading bench advise
I built mine too and its sturdy and handy but I wouldn't be taking any pictures of it right now because its kind of mess. The most important thing is to have a sturdy top to mount the press to. Something with a little bit of beef to it. Dave

Re: 204 midsouth bullets
I have both Midway Dogtowns and the Midsouth 34 grn Varmint bullets. They appear to be the same thing. Midsouth is quite a bit cheaper. I just got rid of one 204 rifle tonight and bought another one. I have been using 27-28 grns of IMR 4895 behind the 34 grain bullets with good results. I would sugg...
