Re: 34 grain nosler shots

Thanks for the heads up on that Glen. Learn something new every day. From what I've experienced-with my rifle anyway-that the accuracy will drop off if you try to shoot these things too fast. Keep them down around 3500 and they can be quite accurate. Of course I'm not one to talk about accuracy anym...

Re: coyote bullet

Different guns shoot the same bullets different. I had a H&R .204 bull barrel and it didn't shoot any on them worth a crap. Sold the gun, now I have the new Savage Model 25 Varminter in .204 Ruger. We will see how this goes. :wall: I had one of those also and I wasn't very happy with it either....

Re: What primer is everyone getting tightest groups with?

That is too bad. I am anxious to see the results.[/quote] I shot my little primer test this morning and it was also postal shoot day. The results of my primer test are "there are no results". Not yet anyway. pretty much inconclusive. The shooting today on my part was erratic at best. The ...

Welcome to the forum. Which VTR do you have? The 700 or the R-15. I have a 700 VTR in 204 and just love the gun. Its a nice shooter. Dave

Re: Konus Pro M30 7282 8.5-32x52

Greystone - which power did you go with? Is it clear at top power? I'm using the 6-24 Konos Pro. I shoot at 24 power at the range all the time and seems to be very clear as long as I have the parallax set correctly. I haven't been able to make any side by side comparisons but if I get a chance I su...

Re: Konus Pro M30 7282 8.5-32x52

Acloco-My dealer has one of the scopes you're talking about in the display counter. I have one Konus scope and for the price I'm impressed with the quality. In fact its on my 204. Originally my thoughts were to use it on this rifle temporarily until I could afford a nice Luppy but I've since changed...

Re: What primer is everyone getting tightest groups with?

Well the weather didn't cooperate here in my part of Minnesota for my little primer test which I was really looking forward to doing :x All day soaker yesterday and thunderstorms and wind now. Since alot of you speak so highly of the 205M I think I'm going to throw some of them into the mix. I want ...

Re: Baikal Double Barrel

Thats a nice looking side by side scattergun :) . My main bird gun now is a light fast handling 20 ga O/U. I'll keep my eyes open for one of these. I've been wanting a side by side. Our pheasant season opens in a month and I'm gettin a little excited. Dave

Win 748

Anybody have any experience with this powder in a 204? I see my dealer has some on the shelf and I've been thinking about trying it. Thanks. Dave

Re: What primer is everyone getting tightest groups with?

I just finished putting some rounds together. All the brass came out of the same 100 round bag and each one has been shot exactly the same number of times. The flash holes and primer pockets have been uniformed using Sinclair tools. The cases are trimmed to the same length. The bullets are all 35 gr...

Re: What primer is everyone getting tightest groups with?

The load and powder I was using showed an improvement when I switched from Rem 7 1/2's to BR4's. I still don't know if it was the load components or me on that particular day. It could have been very easily me. I haven't shot since but hopefully I'll get around to it on Saturday and maybe I'll know ...

Re: 20 Inch barrels??

Hi Schrutester I really like this rifle but I'm a 700 guy. Everthing about a 700 fits me like an old pair of jeans. I just like the way they feel. I have 3 700's. I also like the new X-Mark trigger-easy to adjust and no creep. This rifle is capable of shooting alot better than me. I'm 60 yrs old and...

Re: 20 Inch barrels??

Here's an article from the home page of this site about barrel lengths. I suppose there will be variables-loads,powder burn rates, etc. I shoot a Remington VTR that has a muzzle brake which effectively shortens-performance wise-the barrel to 20". Doesn't bother me at all and I don't think anythi...
