Re: Dogtown 34 gr. reloads?

You should be able to do alot better than 1.5" with them. I shoot these things all the time. I use starting loads for 35 grn Bergers. For me they seem to be most accurate if you hold them below max charges. I haven't used Reloader 15 but have used 4898 and H322. I have some Reloader 10 that I'm...

Re: Cheapest way to start reloading for my .204 ruger

Here you go. This really is a very good kit. After you buy the kit you will still need dies and maybe a 204 specific powder funnel. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=423081&t=11082005 And here's an on-line tutorial for beginners http://www.reloadbench.com/gloss/gui...

Re: Scope questions

I have to agree with what Bergcrane and RIO said. I have a 6-24X that i've used a couple of times for coyotes but never again. You are better off with a 2-7X or 3-9X. Keep it light and fast. Dave

Leupold Rifleman line

Does anyone have any experience with these. To me it looks like they're on the low end of the VX-1 line. Supposedly the adjustments are friction-not click. I have a chance to buy a used one in 4x12x40 but haven't seen it yet. The Leupold's website says the adjustments are in 1/2" increments. I ...

Re: RIP Maggie

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I know how very important dogs can become to a family. It seems like they go from young to old in a heartbeat. They're gone too soon.

Re: Another converted 204 lover!

Hi guys! I am the one Brian is talking about... I picked up my new baby last night. CZ 527 American in 204. Real decent wood and fit and finish seems great. Can't wait to get a scope on her and dial it in... I just bought a 527 also. One of the nice surprises was the trigger. I didn't like it at al...

Re: CZ 527

Dave, after you adjust the trigger and the creepyness goes away you will be a lot happier. When I got mine I thought it was the really creepy so I adjusted it and now it's fine as frogs hair. Gary Gary-I was happy to see that this trigger is fully adjustable-creep, pull weight and overtravel. I spe...

Re: Refinishing My Stock

I've refinished a number of rifle stocks and other pieces of furniture. If you want a nice job you won't do it in a day. It takes time and some effort but the results are worth the effort especially if you're working with a nice piece of lumber. A stock that has had all the grain filled and then fol...

Re: Cant find it!

Nope. But I've wanted a sporter in blued finish. No longer chambered in 204. Keep checking gunbroker and you might find one. Dave

Re: CZ 527

Well I bought this rifle. Both the metal and wood finish seems to be excellent. I got the gun home and cleaned the barrel, installed and lapped the scope rings, and mounted the scope. The scope is just a utility grade 3-12 variable with fat cross hairs. All the rounds that I have are previously fire...

CZ 527

I might have made a deal on one of these little rifles tonight. I'll know more tomorrow. After I got over what I considered ugly at the time -the magazine hanging out the bottom-I started to take a close look at these guns. The workmanship seems to be very nice. They handle nice. I'm getting arthrit...

Re: Need Some Help.....New Rifle Gone Bad!!!

I have an un-opened jug of 10X that I was going to try. After I bought it I heard it was a dirty powder so now after reading this I just just sit on this stuff for a while. I just cleaned the copper out of a 1970's vintage Rem 700 using Butches Bore Shine. It took a long time and a lot of patches be...

Looks pretty good. Which model of the 527 are you shooting. I'm thinking about getting the 527 American. Nice little rifle

Take a look at the CZ line. These little rifles are starting to impress me. I think I'm going to have one as a carry rifle
