Re: 20 cal varmint grenade
A guy at my local gunstore tried to convince me that I should use the Varmint Grenades when I said I was using the Sierra 39gr Blitzkings. He also said that I should be using the 35gr Berger as it was a much more accurate and much better projectile than the Sierra! I am the kind of guy that once I'v...

Re: Favorite Loads
Kiwi- Might want to pick up a Redding #10 shell holder, very tight tollerance. Will also let you know if you didn't get a primer seated correctly. Hi YoteSmoker, Decided to stop stuffing around and get serious so I ordered a Redding competition 's' type neck die set with .224 bushing and also a Red...

Re: Which 204 rifle for a carry coyote rig
I would suggest the Kimber Pro Varmint. Mine wears a 4-16 x 40 Bushnell Elite 4200 and it feels just right for carrying around on extended hunts. The short barrel (22 inch) doesn't loose much in the way of velocity - I can easily hit over 3900fps with 39gr Sierra Blitzkings, using 27.7grs Hodgon H48...

Re: Kimber Pro Varmint
Glenngtr Hi, I also own a Kimber Pro Varmint. It cost me $2,195.00 NZ plus a bushnell Elite 4200 4-16 at $500.00 NZ. I am absolutely thrilled with mine. I can drive the 39gr Sierra Blitzkings at an average for 5 shots of 3873fps out of its 22 inch barrel, with accuracy between 1/4 & 1/2 an inch ...

Promising start (Part II)
Hey guys, As you can remember on my last post, I was concerned at the groups I was getting with my Kimber. So I got out to the range yesterday (Friday), with my Kimber and some new handloads with H4895 powder. However, I still had 20 rounds of factory Hornady 32gr fodder, so I decided to shoot this ...

Re: Promising start
Yes I was cleaning my barrel between each group. And letting the barrel cool down too.

Re: 39gr SBK's and twist rate
My Kimber Pro Varmint is a 1/12 twist and my initial loads with the 39 Sierra Blitz Kings looks very promising. Shot dispersion should come down quite a bit since my runouts with these loads was the worst I have ever had - some of the runouts were .10 or worse, and the necks were noticible crooked! ...

Promising start
Hi to all you fellow .204 Shooters. I am the very proud owner of a Kimber Pro Varmint in .204, brought it brand new. I also picked up a brand new Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x 40. She's a beautiful rig, I'm sure that you will agree, I took the pics first time at the range. http://i253.photobucket.com/al...
Re: PD scope
Critter, Well, us down here in little old New Zealand are about to sign a free trade agreement with China (not my choice of course, but the choice of our left wing Labour Govt). So, I guess we can look forward to our market being flooded with cheap and rubbishy products. I think we must be the world...

Re: How much magnification do you use?
For my new .204 Kimber Pro Varmint I purchased a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x 40, as I felt this was going to be the best option. I previously owned a Remington 700 VS 22-250 that had a Leupold Vari X III 8.5 - 25 x 50 LRT. Beautiful scope, but optically I think my Elite is sharper, something that a fe...

Sellier & Belllot 32gr .204
Hey guys, Anyone tried the Sellier & Bellot .204 factory fodder with the 32gr Sierra BK? Brought 3x boxes to run in the barrel of my new Kimber Pro Varmint. Velocity out of the 22inch tube averaged 3996fps for 5 shots. Accuracy hovered around the 0.5 - 0.75 moa, with a couple of groups under 0.5...
