CZ 527 American in 223 Rem

Having a 204 in CZ Varmint of which I am very fond of, I don't think I can live much longer without another CZ in a varmint caliber. I have a 223 encore barrel that shoots well and lots of components and stuff for 223. I'm thinking of selling this barrel and maybe something else and buying a CZ Amer...

Re: so called gun magazines

Probably won't do much good...the gunwriter has to sell 22-250 rifles as the go to 400 yard cartridge next month. Or will it be the ackley?

Re: 270 Ruger M77 I could use some of your pet loads for deer.

130 - great deer bullet
140- great deer/elk/bear bullet (well-constructed)
150- great elk-moose bullet

My favorite bullets are 130 gamekings or ballistic tips with IMR4350 and 140 Barnes TSX with H4831. All using WLR primers and Remington brass.

Re: Lee neck resizer

I've only used the Lee neck sizing collet die for my 308. Are you asking about the collet die or something else?

Hunting in your early 30s at 8-10,000 ft = wishing you were in your early 20's again. Can't tell you what its like past 33 yet, but it ain't looking to promising

Re: .204 Ackley Improved?

It already is. The 204R case is a necked down 222 Rem Mag necked down to 204 caliber with an improved shoulder. Just shoot it and enjoy! The work's already been done for you.

Glen, I noticed in previous posts you shoot both the blitzking and v-max. What is your favorite bullet of the two?

A foam ear plug inside the hammer works well.

Re: 40 grain Ballistic Tips vs. Yotes

Thanks for the info GAJoe. Anyone else with experience with these on yotes? I get the idea they aren't too popular compared to blitzking, v-max, and varmint match bullets.

Re: Clunky bolt on my CZ 452 American

FWIW, I spoke to Mike, CZ's head gunsmith a couple months back and asked him if he could give my torque specs for my 527. He said that I should just tighten both guard screws nice and snug without damaging the screw head.

20-30 inch lbs might be worth a try also.
